launched gw2 from ssd, 18 seconds to load into brisban

It looks like those timers are still pretty bad. I run the game from an older OCZ Vertex SATAII SSD and it loads up faster than that. Are you running the SSD/HDD on a 6gbps SATA port on your motherboard or a 3mbps SATA port? They’re usually designated in your motherboard manual, they might also have different colors to differentiate between the two. For instance, my 6gbps ports are red while my 3gbps ports are black.

I’ve currently uninstalled the game from both drives and decided a registry scan might be in order, this is the results of said scan. :|

I don’t know what registry nuke is, but after a scan from the first few links of google, it looks legit. Let us know how it goes if that fixes it. If it doesn’t go well it might be time to just reinstall windows.

well it fixed part of it.. wanted the full version for the rest, so i tossed and skimmed cnet for a full free one, it’s currently scanning. may or may not help, looked up my order history, my hdd is 7200rpm, all the SATA ports on the board i have are sata III 6gb, so it shouldn’t be that making a difference ( i know 7200 isnt top notch, but still)
Ok so it finished and is correcting the errors. This still made me less than happy, and makes me question the previous results

I can’t speak for any of the legitness of the tools you are using. Some registry tools might look and play nice initially, but in reality they’re just malware furthering your problem.
Personally, you have an SSD now, reinstall Windows on it. Now would be as good time as ever since you have an SSD and you won’t regret the boot times of Windows after you do when compared to your old hard drive. I was once a firm believer that an SSD was a super luxury item that wasn’t warranted for. I caved and got one when the price was right (like .50cent per GB) and I’ll never go back. I highly recommend one for any machine, even if it just surfs the internet. The new load times were just amazing, especially compared to coming from some ancient IDE hard drive from the early 2000’s (it just never died).

Well currently i found out that my ssd .. was a bit of a ripoff at about $1 per gb, so that baby is goin back to bestbuy, and ill shop around a bit more. (also, the registry nuke has adware with it.. and has hidden itself. joy.)

Check out Tom’s Hardware webpage: http://www.tomshardware.com/
They have a great group on their forums and I’ve had a lot of success finding out things for my pc and peripherals.
well I’ve reinstalled it on the hdd, going to test and see how it goes!
ok first attempt, 48 seconds (cry) Figured since it was the firrst login after the reinstall, id try again. 18 seconds this time! I’m (hoping) to take the ssd back tomorrow and find a better deal, maybe i can get under 15 or so, that’d be lovely.
Also, thanks to both of ya for the help Will update as soon as the new ssd gets here.

So,you’re getting a new ssd to take 3 – 4 sec of your loading time.. ? Isn’t that bit …you know..
well that and windows >_>; it’s not that odd really, people buy $300.00 video cards to have better looking grass, $400.00 tablets to check mail & play angry birds, and $50,000.00+ vehicles so they can have heated seats & lower mileage :P

If you’re looking for a safe registry cleaning tool, ccleaner has a registry cleaner that works well. I don’t know if it’s necessarily the most effective out there, but it’s never caused problems and certainly isn’t malware (download it straight from piriform, the developer). I also used the registry cleaner included with Comodo system cleaner before with good results, until the “fonts” cleaning left me with nothing but unicode symbols when I rebooted…

I don’t think I could have said it better myself.

Download, install and update the free version of Malwarebytes’ Antimalware:

Then run a FULL scan.
Be patient that site is loading VERY slowly for me at the moment.

I sorted all my problems out! well.. i still load a bit slow (took the ssd back) but not so much that i cant play~
When you installed the SSD did you hook it up in the Sata 6gbps socket? + did you install windows while any other disks hooked up on the mobo? ( you shouldnt do this) Is the firmware of the SSD and bios on mobo on the latest versions?
