Ran Diagnostics on GW2 after experiencing horrible lag spikes and disconnects and found that after a certain node upstream its complete packet loss. What is going on?

Looks like Telia (or even before) is having issues, once again. You can try using a VPN for possible better results.

Good luck.

Why would I be hitting EU hosting when I’m based in Atlanta GA?

not sure why it is your hitting them servers when you should be hitting the NA servers . as you are from the usa . and as techs from the game its self do not seam to answer these posts at all .

this is the best thing i can come up with to help you fix your problem !!

get Gw2_Launchbuddy from here https://github.com/TheCheatsrichter/Gw2_Launchbuddy/releases/tag/1.0.5

and watch wooden potatoes vid on it too so if you got any questions . he can maybe be the best one to answer this and help you

it is not hard at all to use this and got some good stuff like map load info . and if you got more then one acount . well you can use it and just log into all accounts from their

video on launch buddy here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1-bsIGxAkE

good luck and hope this helps you BTW you can even get the best lowest ping servers using this LEGAL app

no new system upgrades coming

The -diag option traces both EU and NA servers. If you don’t have an EU-registered account or play on the EU servers, you can ignore the first trace entirely. The second trace is to the NA servers, which doesn’t show any packet loss. The third one failed, but it’s just a patch server and GW2 will automatically try another one, otherwise the launcher would say connection error.

I too have been having packet loss issues, the worst of it being after the patch for the last living story. Several friends and guildies have also complained of having unexplainable latency issues as of recent. Without the use of a VPN the game is completely unplayable, sitting at 700~ ping average. Swapping to my VPN lowers it to 200~ average still with massive lag spikes ranging from 1-5k intermittently. I never had issues with connectivity to the game until a couple of months ago now and it has just steadily been getting worse. It’s incredibly frustrating. At this point I just deal and play the game hoping things will improve eventually. Not much else I can do on my end of things. :/
