Ever since the patch, I’ve had massive lockups of my computer and hitches with the game’s performance, in which it’s throttling the entirety of my PC and sporadically freezing the game for a few seconds before freeing up and running normally again. It’s acting as if the game is suffering a massive memory leak IMMEDIATELY upon being launched.

What the hell is this?

I’ve been having this issue as well. Everything was working fine until yesterday’s patch, now the game chokes and lags seriously. And it’s not just in heavily populated maps.

I know it’s not my computer, or my graphics settings.

Likewise, it’s absolutely the game at fault for what’s going on. I want to know if they are aware of the issues and are going to be fixing them.

Been playing the game on and off since last year when i played the game last week with my Gtx 690 everything was pretty fluid but after I installed a 980ti things went pretty nasty. Dipping to mid-low 20s in WvW… All of a sudden it’s 2012. Trying to troubleshoot and see whether or not it’s my setup or the game. Started with the fresh OS & drivers(368.69 the latest one is pretty unstable imho) and now I’m downloading the game to eliminate bad files over the countless upgrades pushed over the last couple of months.

What I’m finding annoying is how your character moves like a sponge through oil with keyboard lag while the monster/enemy move fast and fluid.

Adding on to this some more. I am also all of sudden suffering massive FPS drop after downloading a patch a couple of days ago.

The night before I was playing the game on Max Graphics settings at 60+ FPS, on medium settings I was getting 140 FPS. NOW… I get at MOST 20 FPS no matter what settings the graphics are on. AND… my ping is up around the 100ms area when it was only at 30-50ms before.

This all started after a patch from a couple of days ago.

Started GW2 like an hour ago when i wanted to play GW2 again.
There was an update, since then random freezes/crashes.

The sound keeps playing and my computer screen keeps showing the last visual frame/screen from the game.
No error messages from GW2.

I have the same problem… My game is running at 30 fps and it completely laggs my computer out, can’t watch netflix while playing gw2 anymore. My gtx 1080 is at 100% utilization and my i7-6700k at 30-40%. I have written to the support but that has been 2 days since i send it and no answer till now. I hope they fix this fast because the game is unplayable like this.

Me re-downloading the game from the scratch helped to recover some frames tho. But it’s still lagging when the scene gets crowded compared before. And yeah I know you cant re-download every time they release a patch…

I have been having major issues since LW3 update. I’ve been running 64 Bit with high settings for months now with no problems. I’ve checked and rechecked my computer and my ISP and I’m 99.9% sure it’s the game update. I switched to 32 Bit client and now I can actually play where as before the game was just unbearable. try to switch to 32B if your not already and see if that helps. Good luck!

I was running Windows 7 before, reinstalled GW2 after July 26th patch, no change. Upgraded to Windows 10, no change for GW 2 issues. Reinstalled GW2 again with Windows 10 (64B client) and so far appears to have fixed issues. Only had an hour of game time so not 100% confirmed. I’ll update soon as I’m sure. Hope this helps some people.

Same problems after 10 minutes in Bloodstone fen. Had n issues in Central tyria, didn’t try Magumma. reverting to 32 Bit client, at least the game is playable that way.

Even 32 B is no longer playable. No issues before July 26th. Now suddenly I can’t even play without lag spikes and crashes. Starting to get discouraged

Same here. I’ve posted in an another topic that was about maps loading really slow (objects and stuff) and it has all been happening since the major LS3 update. I have no idea what the hell happend here…

I to am experiencing random freezes both in populated and unpopulated areas. The game ran fine before the latest patch and now its becoming unplayable. Freezes last anywhere from two to five seconds. I checked to make sure my video card had the latest updates and it did. I even restored defaults on game settings and still no luck.
When I initially try and log in the loading screen appears to freeze as well. The downloading indicator remains empty and then changes to initializing after 60 seconds. Another 90 seconds later and the login screen finally appears. Once I sign in and hit “PLAY” it takes another 15 to 30 seconds to load up my characters. I don’t ever recall it taking this long before.

New build…. So far seems fixed.

As of the last patch I’m getting around 17FPS sitting in the SE spawn of a WvW borderland, with no one around.

Yesterday I was getting around 60fps skirting a zerg… :|
Fired up The Witcher 3 and it still runs smoothly, so I’d be inclined to say it’s not my computer’s fault.
GTX960, GTS650 (not really doing anything in gw2 tho,) AMD FX-4170 and 8GB of RAM… should be enough for gw2, right?

Yeah, I just recently started having problems ever since last patch where it would start freezing randomly and then the game resumes back normally after a few seconds pretty much unplayable for me in PvP since those few seconds usually mean death. I tried repairing my game client to no avail. I’ll have to see is hopefully something is addressed or I’m just going to have to deal with it until then.
