I want my friend to try this game out but i don’t see anything like a recruit a friend or something to were i can send him a link to try the game out. I know he will love the game and etc but he will not buy something before trying it.

There is no such function in the game.

Every now and then there is a free trial weekend though. Your friend can register here: https://register.guildwars2.com/trial/newsletter to sign up for the next one.

So it’s either wait for a trial or buy the game.

Sandra is correct. At the present time we do not have a free trial or demo on offer. That could happen in the future, but at the present time it’s not possible to invite a friend to try the game for free.

You might want to visit www.guildwars2.com from time to time to see if a free trial is offered.

If he buys directly from ArenaNet, they have a very good return policy if he decides it’s not for him.

Also, there’s http://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/ – great place to keep an eye on deals if he is willing to buy elsewhere, although for best results it’s always good to make sure the place matches up on the Official Resellers list here.

Can’t you invite that friend at your home ? Let him play on your account for a few hours while you are watching.
That way your friend can test it and buy it in the future

This is not allowed. You can’t advise people to break the rules, with him there or not it is sharing an account.

Please keep in mind that purchasing from a third party carries inherent risks and buying a used copy is an incredibly bad choice, because the account will always be “owned” by the original registrant and not someone to whom he resells it. That means you can’t get support for the account, the owner might try to sneakily reclaim it, etc., etc. If your friend decides to buy the game, I encourage him to choose the supplier very carefully, buying only a new account from a reputable source.
