I have been hacked —--> account restore to my ownership thanks to fast response of the team but not fast enough to prevent item lost.

Currently waiting for item recovery team to look into my account.
Thus I have a couple of questions.

If we play before recovery,
1 will item I obtain currently still be with me after the item recovery process it done?
2 will Achievement[AP] still clear/obtain if I did it in this period count?

After recovery,
3 to what extend of recovery will the team provide? bank? gold? character items? bag items? guild bank items?
4 if items that cannot be recovered, will the team provide other compensation?

Thanks.

Regards,
Lonely Teddy

I don’t have any first hand experience so this is just a guess and based on what I have read here. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in and correct anything I get wrong.

A rollback will take you back to a snapshot in time so whatever you had then, is what you will get. This would include your characters, achievement points, inventory and so on. Anything you have done after this time which obviously includes what you do in the game right now, will be lost.

Anet does not recover guild bank items so unfortunately they are lost forever.

I highly doubt you will get compensation for anything you have lost. Anet’s gift to you is recovering and rolling back your account.

Account hacks really are the pits. A shame we have to share our world with such dishonest people.

Well I guess no point playing until the did the recovery. Only sad thing in all your said is about the guild bank.
So this will prove that guild bank is a un-safe zone in guild wars 2. It prove it’s use is still risky. Is a shame that such problems still exit. Hope they will have a remedy for this grey part in the future.
However I am still grateful that most things will be return soon.
Thank you.

Their reasoning for the guild bank recovery is very clear: How many times can a guild bank be restored before it completely ruins the market?
They don’t go and remove the stolen items from the market, because they can’t really track what happens to the item, then the gold, and it can go on for a bit before it settles. It’s way to long to track, so they just restore the account, and the items are just duplicated. If guild banks are hacked like 5/6/20 times and are restored that many times, it will completely crash the market.

It’s a shared bank and therefore not part of your account. It can be very difficult to track where items taken from it have gone, especially in a large guild with hundreds of members. This would allow nasty things to happen, like members taking items and selling them, then claiming the bank was robbed so they can get the items back and sell them again, and again…

Your guild bank is only as secure as the weakest member, if someone who is given access is hacked or turns out to be untrustworthy, it’s not Anet’s responsibility to fix it.

Think of it like home insurance. If your house burns down, it’s covered by the insurance. If you have a bunch of your stuff stored in your friend’s attic and that house burns down, your home insurance doesn’t cover it because it’s not your home.
