Memory crash Tequatl the Sunless
Personally for the Bloodtide wurm and Teq I just drop my settings back to “best performance” and I haven’t crashed since. Everything else in the game (including massive wvw zergs) I put my settings back to Autodetect (max that my computer will run).
I can’t confirm if it’s the same thing happening to you, but I think people found another chat code that instantly crashes people. This time it crashes you before you have the chance to see it and you don’t need to hover your mouse over it.

Yeah I did the same and didn’t crash. I am sure there is a fine line you can push with characters on screen, hi textures etc, but I really don’t feel like crashing/not crashing 100 times to find out. Maybe Anet can do that with their troubleshooting team and post a sticky for the event.
Basically people with high end computers that can run the game at a decent frame rate fine, maxed out, supersampled and even downsampled, even in large zergs crash here.
64 bit OS doesn’t matter (though I imagine people with 32 bit OS’s run into crashing much more often). Simply the client can’t handle max settings in MEGA events no matter what amount of ram/computing power you throw at it.
For those having issues it is not your PC. Simply turn down settings. If you find that fine line? Go ahead and post it. Would be nice it if was just set character limit to low, cus at least the game wouldn’t look like Nintendo 64 for that event. Character high textures requires a Map change to do and that really isn’t viable to turn off when you just head there and wait a hour or two just to do the event.
