I have a windows 8 computer, and I used to run guild wars 2 just fine, but I stopped playing for a little while… Well the other day i decided I wanted to play again so I logged in, and everything is fine with the launcher and login, but when I hit play, the window flashes up then minimizes, and I can’t play the game. I don’t hear any sounds or noises from the game either.
I have already tried the Repair shortcut, where you make a shortcut to the exe file, and go to properties and put “-repair” on the end, yea I tried it, didn’t work.
It does pop up with something saying it cant find the name, I included a picture of it.
I have re-installed the game at least 3 times, and all failed. I even made sure it wasn’t firewall blocking it, and even tried restarting in safe mode. I’ve tried running it in compatibility mode aswell…

You need to put a space after the path:

"C:\...\Gw2.exe" -repair

Try using the -windowed option to force the game to run in a window. Also update your graphics drivers.

"C:\...\Gw2.exe" -windowed

You can also try resetting your settings by deleting the folder %appdata%/Guild Wars 2/ and if it exists, the file Documents/Guild Wars 2/Local.dat

Thanks! That resolved my issue.. It looks like a random file or document got placed into my settings.
