Mouse problems
I also have a mouse issue on the mac. I am using a logitec trackman and sometimes the screen keeps spinning out of control and I have to restart the client. I use the same mouse on the Windows version of GW2 with no issues.

I’m having the same exact problem. Can’t use the mouse to look around at the environment without spinning out of control. Makes any underwater gameplay extremely hard and frustrating as well.
I had this problem once, when I was in fractals. I couldn’t properly move due the camera angle. I looked straight down on my character and everything else. But after I rebooted Guild Wars everything was normal again, and the problem hasn’t appeared again, so far.
Have any of you created application specific settings in your mouse software? I did that with a Logitech Performance MX mouse and it caused all sorts of issues. After I removed my application specific settings, the problems went away.
It may not apply for anybody in this case, but hey, every little bit helps.
I never installed the disk of the mouse thinking Mac won’t be able to read it. But if it worked for you, that’s good! Maybe it’ll help some other people too (:
I use a Logitech G500 wired mouse. I plug it into a windows pc and load the software there to setup my buttons. For example thumb buttons are keys 1,2,3 scroll are 4,5. This way I dont have to push/click any of those keys for all of my main weapon abilities as they are always on my mouse. The cool thing about this mouse is once the buttons are set that they are stored in memory directly on the mouse itself. Plug it into any other pc or mac and it retains the settings. No reason to install any software on my mac at all. Viola!
I have a kensington mouse and cant use it for anything but menus and clicking on buttons. for movement all I have are the keyboard keys which is an extremely archaic way to move your character not to mention I end up spinning out of control at the slightest mistap on the keys.
very disapointed.
is there ANY mouse that you can use to move your character or is this just the way the game is for mac users? its terrible. honestly have not been able to play because I cant control the character.
The problem with the camera spinning out of control over your character’s head when using a mouse is a known issue in the Mac client, see the sticky.
I’m currently getting mouse targeting problems for the last month where my left mouse click won’t target anything, but I can deselect by clicking the ground with it.
Anything else, I’m not sure, check your mouse batteries, low batteries are worse than dead batteries because they cause completely intermittent and random, unexplainable problems. If it’s a cabled mouse, sorry, can’t help there.
I fixed this problem by going to mouse settings on my computer and switching the primary mouse control from left to right or vice versa.
Having the same camera spinning issue, regardless of the mouse I’m using (I’ve tried 5, all different brands…), on a late 2013 macbook pro. Has anyone actually managed to solve this?? It seems to be intermittent for me, during the day I won’t be able to control the camera at all regardless of what I use, then in the evening not a problem at all. Totally weird, and not sure what is causing it..?
What is the answer
I’m having this issue as well except rebooting my game or even the computer doesnt fix the problem, ive tried with two different mice that i know have worked before
I’ve run into this, and it’s been happening a lot more lately with these latest patches, what I found to fix the problem is to ALT – TAB out of GW2 then back in, that usually does it. The other thing is that Magic Prefs (if you are using it) can cause some issues, if you ALT-TAB out of GW2, then disable Magic Prefs, then re-enable it, that cures the problem.
Same issue. Sometimes the game just starts spinning. Alt tab works, but it really needs to be resolved.
Confirmed here as well. Command+Tab to get back to desktop, then go back to game works as a temp ‘work around’.
if you play in windowed mode and it happens, click out of the game window and then back in and it fixes.
if you are playing full screen, cmd + tab to go to the desktop and then when you go back to the game it should be fixed.
I think I got lucky and figured this out when it first happened to me.
Confirmed the Cmd+Tab, that fixed it for me as well. Thanks.
