Q:

A friend of mine doesn’t play guild wars 2 anymore, and he wanted to give me his account. However, I don’t know if it’s allowed to have multiple accounts.

So before I do something that might get me banned; Is it allowed to have multiple accounts?

Selling, trading, or even giving away an account to someone else is not permitted. If it is detected, yes, the account is subject to closure. The reason I say that is not to be scary, but to make it clear that if you invested time in building the account — characters, items, etc. — they may go away at any time because only the original buyer of the account (buyer from a legitimate source, of course) is ever the owner of the account.

I don’t intent to. I just want to do some story missions with the charr because I have never done them before (and I don’t want to buy a new character slot just for some story missions)

Thanks for the response. Apart from logging in once to see what characters were on it I haven’t done anything with the account yet. I will inform my friend and give the account back.
