My FPS in WvWvW is Horrible
its your cpu, your videos no winner either but, you need at least 4.6ghz out of an i7 to keep the fps at or above 30 in WvWvW(and even then, its hit and miss…)
you could try whats suggested here as your system may meet the requirements https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Aid-to-FPS-for-some/first#post1427525
this games VERY VERY VERY cpu bound even chips costing over a grand(over 1000usd) cant assure you of 30fps game wide……no chip can assure you constant even in pve…..(de’s can be as bad as WvWvW)
try the linked app, if it dosnt help, then im sorry but…..your laptop just wont cut it for WvWvW in its current state……
the lack of optimization in this game….or as i have started to think of it, the massive deoptimization of this game has driven me to only play once a week, the rest of my times in WarFrame and Tera(now free to play)…..
I love gw2, but, the game runs so poorly that I just cant enjoy playing for hours on end like I do with other games.

Ok thanks but would you say there is something anet could do to imrove FPS in WvW

Nope. Also, 4.6Ghz is not needed. A desktop version 3rd gen i7 3770K at default speeds will keep you above 30fps easily as long as your graphics card can keep up.
Gaming on a laptop, like yours, is kind of silly. Laptops are made with low power chips and should be expected to lag in a game as demanding as this one.
Check out my signature, this computer consistently gives me 100fps or more in WvW, even in massive zergs. Lag is non-existent for me. I make computers and do work with hardware for a living, I know very well what I’m talking about.

your either a lucky one, or your full of kitten, no way are you getting 30fps in DE’s or WvWvW with a stock 3770k without some black magic…..SolarNova and a number of other people who offer help/advice here can back me on this…..your either lieing or delusional saying you get 100fps in WvWvW zergs with that rig your running….
now as to anet doing something about it…..they could, but it will require them to put money into re-building the client and how it uses threads/cores, and i doubt thats gonna happen till after the xbox720 comes out so they can start work on a console port….that will also be about the time they consider a 64bit client and dx11 support…..till then, I doubt anybodys working seriously on fixing the problem, because anet management probably dont see that the perf is costing them money…
I love gw2 gameplay, but the client honestly sucks…..your laptop and the above fellows desktop should be able to run this game at 60fps a 1920×1080 mid-high to high settings…..but alas, settings dont do much in this game unless your videocards totally horrible……

They don’t see it because it’s not.
The majority of users attribute the perf issue to network Lag. The rest think the game is so advanced, that it will necessary run slow on todays hardware and a very few actually come here to complain, yet they still play the game.
From a managerial point of view, ArenaNet is actually doing the right thing. Remain silent and wait for the problem to go away on its own.
IvanHoe: funny, because every single person I know who has this game decided not to give anet any more money till they fix the games perf…..mind you, a few of them have high end intel chips at 4.5-4.8ghz range with high end videocards and ssd’s, and they are very unhappy the game runs this poorly.
and yes, as long as people keep paying they are doing the right thing from a money point of view, but when haswell then broadwell and/or steamroller/excavator dont fix the problem, and more and more people start getting kitten off(its happening alot of people are walking away from gw2 and playing other games, you should try tera, mention gw2 in any area or world chat and you will see tons of people who love the game but moved to tera because it runs better on their hardware…)
it is costing them money, but, they dont care, they already have your money from buying the game, and people are still buying the game…..
if you buy it and dont demand a refund, you still gave them profit, so the loss of you buying gems isnt apparent at first….
its a good thing for anet that they went buy 2 play, because, if it was p2p, it would have had to go f2p in the first year to keep from going under….
I love the game, gw2 is fun, but, the client runs horribly, I mean, I got alot of friends who simply cant afford to upgrade to a level where this game can run at 30fps and up stable…..so they wont get the game….thats lost up front money for anet, then on top of it, those same people are known to spend alot on f2p game shops(one of them spends as much as 1000usd a month on various f2p mmo’s and shooters…..hes nuts and has to much money….he bought founter in sto, neverwinter, warframe and 2 other games this month alone….)
I know the developers would like to fix it, but i bet management isnt letting them.
having talked to more then 1 dev in game…..well they want to make the game as good across the board as they can, but I really get the impression that they are only allowed to do so much…
To fix the game they would likely have to make it less optimal for porting to next gen consoles so….that will have to wait till those consoles have dev kits out, then the process will start to make the game run better and run under dx11…..and possibly 64bit as well….

Doom, what graphic settings are you playing at?
I am playing at Low everything is low and turned off and i have turned off things in my Nvidia control panel.
And i think that they should concentrate on the PC game i don’t see console ports attracting console players
It is a normal issue, it will harddly get solved untill developers start using dx11 and multithread rendering engines on their games, may be some day they will realize this is not kittening 2005 anymore… TBH every MMO i played which includes huge scale PVP battles had the same issue, so i’m kinda used to it, but honestly we have so much hardware potential atm and it is just sad developers still make software that would only run efficiently on pentium 4 CPUs @ 12ghz… I mean, 70% of the gaming population has dx11 capable cards, 70% have processors with 4+ cores stop making kittening dx9 games for single core CPUS!!!
We want better performance!
We want better performance!
We want better performance!
We want better performance!
>:O
Honestly, the poor performance is what drives me to stop enjoying whatever I’m doing in GW2. ANet needs a John Carmack or someone obsessed with improving the games engine.
iSmack: pretty much covers it for me to….. and Rampage: well said, well said….
dx11
multi threading(not 3 heavy threads clearly designed to help porting to old consoles that tuned out to be to slow to run the game)
but alas, we are very unlikely to see any real fixes…..they will just wait for cpu makers to fix their kitten.
