Guild Wars 2

After a long break away from GW my friend and I decided to give it one more try. The problem is in the meanwhile I bought a macbook pro and sold my other laptop. After hearing about this mac beta client I got really excited. But after installing I could only play for like 2 mins before the client shuts off itself. I really hope someone can help me with this problem because myself I just can’t find the solution for it. Thanks is advance!

Are you getting any errors at all? Anything of note you can think of prior to these crashes? Are you in char select screen or in game? If in game, where are you? Unfortunately, without the details of “crash” I don’t think anyone will be able to help you yet.

No I am not getting any errors at all. The screen just freezes at random moments and then then game just closes itself. These " crashes" happen ingame and are not bound to a specific area since I tried that before by moving to different area’s. This didn’t work because my system kept freezing no matter where I went. The only thing I can think off what might help is that noticed that most of the crashes are while preforming some kind of movement: Moving my character around or moving my mouse around for better view. Hope this might help a little more because I’m pretty lost myself. Thanks in advance!

Just a thought, what are your graphics settings set to?

Changing my graphics settings doesn’t solve the problem. If I set them too " high" the game freezes and the same happens if I play with lowest settings possible.

Any news on a fix for this? We mac player are left in the dark with a version that crash all the time in WvW.

What helped my crashing in WvW was setting the QoS on my wireless router. I would slow to a stutter in WvW (not be able to cast spells or anything, same with world bosses), then I would be stuck on one frame, then blackness flash then crash.

Check error code 7.x for the ports and see if you could mess around with that… Maybe slow graphics combined with Internet issues is messing things up for you guys. It’s just a suggestion.

Also, there is something about editing the config file to increase the graphics memory to match your video cards as well. Search around the forums for that though, because I can’t remember the specifics of which line of code, it’s not too hard to recognise. Worth a shot anyway since you’re unplayable as it is. Let us know how you make out.
