My Guardian, Urnaos, name is apparently inappropriate um… how? I’ve played on the character for over 400 hours for and the account for 1.5k hours for over a year with out any kind of issue until tonight so I’m just kind of confused.

How long you have had the name makes no difference. Someone saw the name and reported you for it, then support looked at it and agreed that it violated the naming policy. I am not sure what the name actually means but it could be something offensive in another language.

What I saw when I first looked at the name was a ‘creative spelling’ of an offensive phrase, which is my guess why it was banned.

Swith the n and the a, then sound it out.

But to me, that is the name of a planet. I really hope they would not ban the planet name thinking it was creative spelling, that would be a little overboard.

I googled and found a thread from back in gw1, 2008, a guy got a suspension for having the character name, X Uranus X,

It’s how it sounds in English that’s important here. How are they to tell the difference from someone actually using the planet name from someone using it to get around TOS?

Just another example of how over the top things have gotten. I don’t see what is wrong with that name, however just because one person “may” find it having another reason, even if unable to be proven, it gets deleted.

By this logic, if somebody uses the name of a real person, i.e. Barack Obama, it’s apparently okay, however if I find it to be offensive because that’s really not Barack, then I expect it too to be deleted. The whole system needs a revamp as it’s embarrassing and another reason not to financially support this game.

There was two people. The reporter and the GM/CS person that reviewed it.
