So it was like this: I have set my GW2 to update yesterday, as I wasn’t playing this weekend’s event. After some time BSOD occured and after cleaning up all the mess that caused i tried to resume on download. Game tried to repair itself, using that repair option it has built in, but it crashed. I tried to do this two times. After that i tried to re-install GW2. Uninstallation and intallation from DVD went smoothly. Unfortunately after some time, say at 18 thousand files to download, game crashes. What to do?
delete local.dat, its probably corrupt, then run the repair again.
Tried that, re-downloaded the whole client and still crashes but in a different moment.
Reset your system bios to optimal defaults (read the mainboard manual for instructions)
Do a chkdsk
and try uninstalling (if you cannot turn off) your antivirus.
