I’ve submitted a ticket but have no idea when I’ll hear back. My name was changed from Jewbacca to Catamaran Nights. I am, in fact, Jewish and I’m not insulted by my own name. I use this ID on both Twitter and Steam (along with some other online locations) and I’ve yet to run into someone that has had a negative reaction to my online handle.

If this action is not able to be appealed, I’d at least like the opportunity to create my own name. I did not do anything here that was designed to offend nor do I believe it warrants any sort of punishment.

You really need to ask why your name was changed?

Sorry man but you HAVE to be trolling… /moves along

Not trolling. Asking. Relatively nicely.

Trolling or not, when it comes to things being offensive.. It’s never the originator’s offense that is worried about. It’s everyone elses.
Do you think I’d be able to get away with “Bearjew”? “N*gt*ts”? “Sp*c the Wop”? “Polack the Ch*nk”? (yes I consciously censored all that. Odd how the filter doesn’t consider the slurs “Wop” and “Polack” as bad words.)
No, no one would ever get away with those names. You can whine about the ethics involved, but ANet legal will always play the safe-route and just block out anything obstinately offensive.

Character Slot avoided Riot.

No one in the game can possibly know that you are Jewish. And no one who sees the name knows the intention, they just see a questionable name and react accordingly.

Name is disallowed. Name will be disallowed. And as far as I recall, you did not serve the usual 3-day time-out, so you might see the glass as half full rather than half empty.
