NEW COMPUTER!
I’ll suck volcanus for stability.
being able to play Wow with 120+ FPS isn’t anything spectacular..sorry to say. Even a few low end PCs i work on can run it at 50+ maxed out.
can you tell us the specs of your computer?

Indeed wow isnt particularly demanding tbh.
And guessing on GW2 performance without specs and only that bench to go on is next to impossible.

CM Storm Stryker case | Seasonic 1000W PSU | Asux Xonar D2X & Logitech Z5500 Sound system |
but there are a few places tho in Wow that are a "little" more demanding on a system lol the new textures they use in some of zones are really quit nice

You can get that performance in LOL with a i3 2100 and a 7850 card . Dont know how he came up with 120FPS I thought it caped before then.

unless Blizzard capped it in a newer patch, I can remember my old rig back in the burning crusade days was capable of getting over 200+ fps lmao

Anything beyond 60 FPS is a waste since you’ll barely notice any difference at all. I can make GW2 run at 120FPS very easily with my rig (I’m a VFX/CG artist) but the only difference I can tell is that my GPU fan is spinning faster than normal and my PC is getting hotter than normal, that’s it.

while this may be true, you’re always going to have the one dude who’s like LOOK AT MY UBER RIG PEOPLE!!!!

Very ture. But then I tell them the specs on my rig and they shut up real quick. Funny part is I built this rig for work, not for gaming, just so happens my work and gaming share the same components

and since it’s for work I can respect that. What I don’t understand are those people that get 80FPS in a game….spend $400 in new parts, and then at the end of it all get a whopping 81FPS and say they can totally see the difference -_-
but I know what your saying about your PC lol I built mine for everyday use, but it’s not afraid to get work and gaming done. Heck, when I build mine the parts were brand new but they were out in circulation for almost 1-2 years! And yet my little “old” AMD B60 quad core and my “old” Nvidia GTX460 has less problems running games than my friends who build these monsters that require an installment loan and possibly a kidney

$400 in parts for 1 FPS of improvement lol I’d rather drop $400 in the gem store

Preaching to the choir my friend lol
FPS beyond 60 can be ‘felt’ on a 60hz screen but not seen for obviose reasons, on a 120hz screen however it can be ‘seen’ and ‘felt’.
Arguments over what can and cant be seen are really kind of mute imo, each person can decide for themselves what they see and dont. each persons eyes are different, some are more sensetive than others.
As for spending that much for 1 extra fps, thats an extreme, lets be honest :P ..but ur point stands.
As for spending lots in the 1st place. Well i spent loads, infact im still building my rig u see in my sig, i still need a new GPU, gunna be spending around £600 on one when they release, totaling around the £1800 mark when all is done.
But for me, i build a rig within a 4 to 5 year plan, Spend loads in one go on a rig that will last 4 to 5 years with little to no upgrades. It ends up being as cheap as spending alot less (~£700) on a rig that will only last around 2 years.*
It also means for the 1st year or 2 my rig can handle pritty much every game out at max settings and have wicked performance (exceptions being those games with crap engines that cant take advantage of said rig).
My last rig cost around £2000 (it was my 1 and only prebuilt so it cost more than it should have) and it lasted 4 years b4 i changed the GPU which extended its usfullness another 8 or so months.
-* how long a rig lasts, for me, is decided by how long it can play ‘average’ up to date games at high (not neccerilly max) settings and stay above about 30fps for non competative games, and 60fps for competative games.

you know I client that I do work for who still is using a computer she bought almost 10 years ago lol I always tell my friends that a computer is only out dated when it can no longer serve you the purpose you either bought it or built it for...but keep in mind I’m talking about end users here.
