Last night a friend of mine got hacked. He was on teamspeak with us while it was happening. We watched the hacker log onto all his chars and strip his account. The hacker changed his password so he was helpless while this was going down. So he submitted a ticket and started looking for a way to change back his password.
He was able to change it back and went to update his ticket but noticed that he had received an automated reply and his ticket was closed. So he submitted another one and that also was closed right away.
Dont get your hopes up about your friend getting any items or characters back. Arenanet does not offer a restoration facility.
Your friend would also be advised to locate the point of compromise. It’s pointless changing the password or email on a compromised system.
My issue has nothing to do with a hacked account (yet. I do find it highly unlikely that so many people have security issues that end with their account being hacked.). I posted a support ticked on day one of headstart that still hasen’t been resolved. I posted a similar message while the forum was open during beta but those forums didn’t last long.

However, i think we can all agree that support for this game is pretty much non-existant. I mean, c’mon. 50 reps to serve 2 million + players?
Exactly. Surely they could have put on a decent sized support team for the launch and maybe a few months to clear all the support tickets, anyone in their right mind would have known would be needed.

The only thing we can do is give it time. After all, its a no sub game, so we cant expect full MMO support. Especially when theyre relying on the RMT trading post to generate revenue.
I’m not even getting an automated reply. I feel completely useless. Not even 2 days after buying the game I’m locked out of my account for no real reason.
MrEMan, not to call you stupid or anything, but have you checked the connection issues on your side? I had the same error and after rebooting my equipment it rectified itself.

We paid full price, we CAN expect full support. Their manning issues are not our problem.
Correct, its not our problem. However, the player still needs to be patient while they adjust the support level to one that can meet the games demand.
As for expecting support, You are playing what is essentially a free to play game. You dont pay for support, all youve paid for is the client and development time. As with any MMO, support is actually a convienience which they choose to supply. It;s hard to believe, but thats how it is.
I paid $60 for a regular version of the game and $150 for a collectors edition. As of this moment I have not received any of my CE items. I am not receiving what I paid for and they have made no effort to correct it. I’ve had a ticket in 2 weeks. I never understood why apologists (yes, you) give gaming companies a free pass. In any other industry this would be false advertisement and best and at worst fraud.
And yes, they have an obligation to give us support if the problem is on their end. If they refund me the over of $300 I have spent on this game total I will leave and they will never hear from me again.

I have given you all of the information I can. Twice have I received an absolutely useless general reply.
You have now taken it upon yourselves to close my ticket because you fixed a few issues and mine MAY HAVE been on of those.What do I need to do to get my issue sorted it has been over four weeks!!!!!!
“A server error has been encountered. Please wait a moment and try again.” tells me nothing.

hey GaileGray why do you answer to his topic and not to mine? My friend waited since the 28 august, he bought the game, made his account and can’t get any email confirmation message! What to do?

I recieved an email today stating the problem is fixed. Thank you Gaile if you had any input. I’m still disapointed it took so long but at least I can play as I wanted to now.
