Need some advice on CPU
I never heared that i7 is faster in accessing more than 4 GB of RAM than an i5.
Or what exactly do you think is the difference that the 64-bit client makes one
64-bit processor better than another ?
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Get the 6600k, overclock it, pair it with +3000MHz ram and you’ll have the best experience.
The extra cores and threads from the 5820k won’t be as useful as the better IPC and higher overclock from skylake.
Also the 5820k is quite more expensive once you count cpu, MB and 4 channel ram prices.
i7 5775c @ 4.1GHz – 12GB RAM @ 2400MHz – RX 480 @ 1390/2140MHz
Thanks your replies was very helpful and will be going with the i5.

It was just that all the previous posts on this subject was published before the 64-bit client and I was not sure if a 64-bit client handles multi threading better then the 32-bit client in which case 6 cores(12 threads) would be better then 4(8 threads).

It doesn’t, it simply can access more than 4 GB of memory that reduces the occurrence of OOM crashes during large events.
