Dear Support I really need urgent help!
Today I just looked into my guild bank and found out that it was completely empty with all my special exotic armor from gw1 character names.
I looked in the log and it was withdrawn by a friend of mine.
But I talked to him and he said he did not played for over 2 months.
So in my eyes it is this situation:
1. His account is hacked.
2. The hacker plundered the guild bank. (6 days ago it all happened)
3. We both are now left behind with nothing…
All that work and money is gone…….
Please help me if you can…
I can make screenshots from the guild bank vault log if needed.
Sorry, I’m afraid you are out of luck. Items in a guild bank are not attached to an account and if removed, whether legitimately or not because of a hack, they are gone for good. Support will not return them.
The reason why is because the hacker gets rid of the items. He sells or salvages them and either way they are gone.
I was already afraid for that, but still I just addressed this with a Support ticket because I might not be the only one with this issue.
@hackers, seriously if I face you in real life you will die an unfortunate death!
I feel for you, that’s awful! I hate the scum that do this
Can someone make them as integrated images or something
Yeah, unfortunately you are not the only one who has had this happen to them. The only way to minimize it is to restrict permissions but even that doesn’t always work or it may not be feasible in a small guild made up of a group of friends. However the way the game is set up, guild banks can’t be rolled back the way accounts can and since the items and gold are usually quickly removed from the hacked account, there isn’t any way to get them back from there.
Q.Q and this is also rl tears….
But wait, Astral you say ANet can roll back players accounts, so they can see the moment the hacker took all items and rollback to that?
I am just thinking loudly because I really am upset about losing all that stuff
Yes they do account rollbacks but they do then to the nearest point they have before the hack. This means any items in the account from that point on will be gone, so you still can’t get the items back.
The only real chance of getting the items is if your friend gets his account back, the items are still in his account AND he does not request a rollback, even if all his characters are stripped and deleted. If he gives you the items back and then requests a rollback they will refuse it. There policy is to refuse rollbacks to people who give or sell items before the rollback.
Owh crap, Anet please please please be so kind to help me with this.
I played this game since the start even with the presale and 3days headstart…
It took me around 1 year to collect all those items, there has to be something you can do?
Astral tx for the talking, I really appreciate people are feeling and thinking with me at this moment
Anet tx for the reply on my ticket, that was amazingly fast!
However it is still a shame that you cannot help me with this.
I know these things can also be abused, but those items in the screenshots were collected from the start of GW2 untill 6 days ago when they disappeared!
I am really really disappointed that after all good things you did in GW2, you can’t help on this one.

Unfortunately, screenshots can not be used as proof of ownership past or present, mostly because any screenshot can be doctored or altered at the users end. It’s like when back in the 1940-1950’s tape recordings could not be used as evidence due to cut and paste techniques at the time, and then recording that on a separate uncut reel.
Give you an idea. Anet already has stated that each item in the original Guild Wars has a unique identification number and a history of items created on any one account. A gentleman not long ago, say a month or two, wrote a forum post with a screen cap saying he accidently threw his legendary into the Mystic Forge. He wrote up a support ticket and sent it to anet in order to get it back.
Anet’s response was, that the person never had the actual Legendary in question, because said item was never to have shown to have ever landed on his character or account. Didn’t matter that he had a screenshot, because the screenshots can be doctored, like I stated above.
If your screenshot is in fact the actual truth, I’m sorry for your loss. I’m not saying it’s not true. It’s just that…screenshots can’t really be used as evidence of property ownership gain/loss.

The only chance you have to get the stuff back, in whole or part, is for your friend to reclaim his account.

We cannot restore guild banks. So even if your friend’s account is confirmed to have been compromised, and even if a restoration is granted, we still cannot replace anything in your guild bank.
I’m sorry for your misfortune.
