I have Installed the game, verified the account, created an account. I got perfectly good internet connection, since i can make this topic…

However when i try to create my character and start the game, an error appears.

Network Error. Please check your internet connection and try again
(Code 1004:6:16:287:101)

I have checked it and its fine, i have also turned of my firewall and internet protection . It did not solve anything.

Please does anyone have a solution for me?, i require aid!

I’m in the exact same boat. Are you running the mac client as well?

We can’t world transfer right now either, so it may be related. I think a server of some kind is down at the moment, even though the actual game servers are up. You’re obviously connected to the internet, so try and be patient and try again later.

Welcome to GW2, not the best of starts, but it’s worth it.

Ok, that’s a relief to hear. So this might not even be a problem i can solve. Probably just have to wait it out and it will solve itself.. I hope.

kitten, yeah got it in the mail today i was really psyched! But then a kitten error has to ruin the fun!.

A simple acknowledgement of this issue would be very encouraging. Instead of sitting here hoping they are trying to resolve it.

Bought the game today. Not impressed so far.

I have the same problem here. Something to do with the latest patch, or something? I wouldn’t know though, since I just literally started up the game for the first time, finished character creation and then ran into the problem.

From the looks of replies made above, it seems to be a common problem for first-timers. I just asked my friend, and he made a new character to test it out; worked fine for him.

My friend is having this problem as well when she tries to complete character generation. Nothing but the same error code over and over.

Got the same problem here. Got great connection, but still the same error message. Waiting for a fix. I WANT TO PLAY NOW!!!
