Network lag and disconnects since patch

Seemingly since this morning I have been having some game breaking lag spikes and experiencing disconnects.

Sometimes I can play ok for a few minutes, but after a while lag seems to just exponentionally build up.

For example, if I press a skill hotkey, the icon will pulse as if to ready for next cast, but nothing will happen for anything between a couple of seconds and up to a minute. Lots of character warping, interaction delay etc. This has been going on all day and is infuriating and makes the game totally unplayable. After a while of this behaviour I just get booted off the server with a network error message.

I have already been in contact with my ISP, had line checks run etc.
I have super-double-checked all my drivers, and I am getting no visual lag.
I am having no similar networking issues with any other games.

What gives?

EDIT: Tried the “-repair” suffix to launch string, made no difference.
EDIT: I’m from England, on BT internet, and WhitesideRidge EU server.

Another EDIT:
I’ve tried running GW2 in a window so I can do a speed test while the problem occurs. Turns out my speed plummets down to about 50kbps (usually 7mb), although my ping stays the same and my netbook reports usual topspeeds at the same time.
Not sure what’s going on.

Exact same issues here. Was looking around the forums for a relevant post and saw yours. I’m a Seafarer’s Rest player, started the game a few hours ago, a new patch was available, and the game became laggy. I also checked everything i could from drivers to connection (everything up to date and flawless connection without any lag on other software and giving me maximum results on speed tests), and when i decided to do a full router/pc reboot, i got perfect gameplay for about 3 to 5 mins tops, after which the lag started to become more and more noticeable until it was unbearable again.
