Never played the game and my account is banned?

Hey,
I just bought the game today and installed it. I went to connect to it and I was given an error that my account has been permanently banned with error code 45:6:3:2:21134.
For reason it has :0
I know security is tight but I haven’t even played this game yet, that’s kinda a little to tight.
I submitted a ticket #120912-001589 if that helps at all.

lol.. the random bans are so absurd that ppl that even played yet are getting banned , i hope all game magazines reporters are reading this forum, and plz shrare this no respect stealers with every1 u can, they wont give any answer, liek they didnt gave me and other 53940934 ppl , max ull get is an auto msg saying ure banned like us , i hope u can still cancel ur purchase

Hackers have attempted to login using credentials from email addresses that aren’t used in the game yet. ANet blocked those addresses from using the game so that your account cannot be hacked before you start playing.

I’m not sure how they could do that. If I register with me@example.com and a password of abc, and I go away for vacation for a few weeks, and someone else signs into the client with me@example.com / abc, ArenaNet isn’t going to know if it’s me or not.
If you’re saying they are blocking people from registering using email addresses that are in lists floating around, is there a link to such a post?

also have this prblem took them mutiple days to send them an automated response and stil nothing happened …. Getting anoyed here i bought the game pre-order and stil unable to play it -.-

totally agree mate, im glad someone is keeping sshots of the forums since they seem to like deleting various topics, My topic asking why id been banned for bad language when there is zero proof or any contact from anet in the first place saying “you said xxxx” “therefore you will now get a 72hr ban” if id got that email just as the ban started Id be fine, I sereiously doubt they have anything and really doubt they have the time for actual people to go thru logs checking for bad language when theres thousands of ppl locked out coz of various other means.
oh yeh the mod didnt like the “tone” of my thread so locked it.

People were asking about their own suspensions for inappropriate language in a reddit thread. ArenaNet would respond and post what the person had said in chat. That was comedy gold.

Actually there was an announcement that hackers have gotten e-mail addressespasswords from other games you may be playing and are running the lists to see if there are any people that registered in GW2, and used the same password as they used for their last game (Which is quite a normal occurance). My guess is you played another online game in the past, and the hackers are using your e-mail address to see if they can break intot your account.
I am sure Anet will fix the problem for you, hopefully soon and then make sure you make a totally new password for this game, as it seems to be a huge target for hackers atm.

ANet’s posted about this topic several times. Currently on the wiki:
Hackers have lists of email addresses and passwords stolen from other games and web sites, and collected through spyware, and are systematically testing Guild Wars 2 looking for matching accounts
I probably explained it poorly. Here’s what I meant:
This is a good thing, because it means that Me will suffer a day or two of frustration in exchange for which they won’t be sandbagged later by a goldseller locking them out, stripping their account, and then allowing it to be banned anyhow. It also means that Me is more likely to create an independent email address.
Obviously, it sucks to be in that situation for even an hour, but it’s far better than the alternative

Right, I read that in their post about the email lists. But I haven’t read anything about ArenaNet blocking those emails from registering. Do you have a link to where ArenaNet states they are blocking email addresses that aren’t yet registered for GW2?

None of my guild mates have been unlocked, about 15 of em. Nobodys helping them and their tickets have been declined also. Email did nothing and still no help for a simple problem. Anet really should get more support staff.
