New camera makes me feel sick
The old camera made me feel sick sometimes.
The worst was when I was positioned such that there was some object very near my character and almost in direct line of sight. The camera couldn’t make up its mind whether to zoom in or not, and it would zoom halfway in and back out rapidly (about 3-4 times per second) until I swiveled the camera slightly. I don’t know yet if this is fixed.
I still don’t like seeing nothing but my half-cutaway character and some walls when I fall between cracks in a hillside (or the occasional crevasse), but I usually manage to get out somehow. Not by looking at my surroundings, of course; it all looks the same when the camera is three inches away. I guess this is probably a separate issue, anyway.

I wonder if they can use the system some mmo’s have of making objects “translucent” when they get between your character and you viewing it.
It works very well in my opinion. The old camera viewing and the current one, are both pretty bad I have to say. Doing jumping puzzles when you have to stick very closely to walls, cliffs, branches etc, can be very hard or nigh impossible when the camera zooms in like a microscope and all you can see is the moss rubbing your nose. Out in the open the camera is fine, but when close to enemies or other objects it is very, very bad. Not what I expected of this game to be sure.
camera smoothing has been disabled (at the request of many, many people), this means that the game now has the latency of every other PC game. I’m not sure what there is to complain about, unless you haven’t played very many games before?
I think the issue is when you spin your camera, it zoomed in a bit and back out if you do it quickly.
The new camera is much better i didn’t like it the other way.

Yeah, pretty much. Just reading topics like this make me laugh, because I swear GW2 must be the first game for some of these people (no camera smoothing makes you sick? what?).
I agree with the OP. It was fine before. I was getting good frame rates and good mouse movement. Now, it feels too fast and with no acceleration like I have to work more to get it to go where I want. The graphics seem to flick or tear now that really hurts my eyes. I have tried the internal settings with no luck. Would any external settings help or does the game take over entirely? Its too bad this couldn’t just be an option instead of forcing it on all of us. Idolicious, you are not helping. Where do you get off telling someone that is physically feeling sick that “GW2 must be the first game for some of these people (no camera smoothing makes you sick? what?)”; what??

Just wanted to mention that I’m still having this “zoom indecision” problem in some places. Apparently it had nothing to do with smoothing, but I hope it will also be addressed in an upcoming patch.
