Q:
I recently got a GeForce GTX 550 Ti video card put in my computer as well as a new 550 watt power supply. I can play all my games great as well as Guild Wars 2, but only for a time. After about 2-10 minutes of playing, my computer will go to a blue “No Signal” as if my visuals aren’t plugged in, but I can still hear the background music. What’s weird is I can also hear a Window’s alert but since it’s No Signal, I wasn’t able to see what it was and had no choice but to reboot.
So I streamed my game for my friend to see and I asked him to take a picture of the alert that he saw and what he saw is in the picture attached. Basically it said "Problem Ejecting NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti – The ‘NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti’ device is not removable and cannot be ejected or unplugged.
Obviously that error makes no sense to me seeing as how it’s correctly plugged in and I’ve re-set it many times. I’ve looked online and found other people with the same problem with other games over the past few months but with other NVIDIA cards.
This has become super frustrating, especially when you spend money on new power supplies and video cards only to run into problems like this. Can anyone help me out?
Specs:
Intel Core i5 2390T @ 2.70 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
h8-1010 HP computer

Sounds like either an overheating problem or a driver problem. Try updating the drivers to see if that fixes the issue. Also, check to see if the software that came with your card includes a GPU monitor.

I’ve played in windowed with my temperatures up in a separate window and nothing seemed to be overheating. On my GeForce experience, it’s saying all drivers are updates. I’ve tried rolling them back and redownloading and that didn’t seem to work either. Also my friend gave me this card that worked fine on his computer, so I don’t have any boxes or material from when he opened it.

This is yet another nvidia driver issue. Just google “problem ejecting nvidia”, it is not only affecting gw2.
I recently got a GeForce GTX 550 Ti video card put in my computer as well as a new 550 watt power supply . . .
A few months ago, I switched -from- a GTX 550TI which had been working properly with Windows 7 Pro and GW2.
Just letting you know it should work – sorry no suggestions though.
