I have never before in my 13 year MMO history going back to Everquest ever had a company have no tools or drive to refund missing/stolen items after a hack. Totally unacceptable from any company looking for positive customer feedback.

From a company who thinks spamming messages to email accounts is a good idea for security when a good number of hackers send email phishing links………..its pathetic.

I log on, no gold, mats all gone……………tons of it, bags sold, hell they even sold my weapons. I have very little drive to actually continue playing this game nor could I ever see reccomending the game as it stands to anyone I know.

Oh I truly hate these posts. My accounts been taken too and now its in another server which shows his doing something with it. I keep seeing these posts. I honestly want to play gw2 but things arent looking too good for me. ><

Same thing happened to one of my best friends. He had just purchased $50 worth of Gems when his account was hacked. Arena Net took 4-5 days to get him his account back, and when he finally did get it back he was stripped of everything. They broke down his Exotics for Ecto’s, stole all of his gold and materials.

Arena Net has basically refused to restore his account or even refund his $50 dollar purchase. I played Guild Wars 1 for years, have all 30 or 40 items associated with the Hall of Monuments and I have been patiently awaiting this game for almost 5 years, but at this point I would be hard pressed to recommend it to anyone either.

Great game, hindered by the worst customer support in the history of gaming. I really hope Arena Net does a complete 180 on their standpoint on this as they are hemorrhaging good honest money spending players and creating a hotbed for hackers and undesirables. If you ask me that is certainly not good business practice.

They are under no obligation at all to restore accounts or items due to a compromise. However, they have said they are going to do this, and are designing a system that will roll back an entire account to a specific save point.

The moral of the story is that people really need to keep their email and computers secure. Reading the details of peopleon this forum that have been compromised, almost every single one of them has an obvious security flaw, yet even when its pointed out, then refuse to listen.
