It has been already a day of massive seach over the web in order to find at least a similar problem to my own with the game installation. When I try to install the game I get no “Install game” or anything like this button. Basicly I can’t install the game. I’m running a 32 bit Vista Os, in case it might help. Also tried a lot of the web advice I could find, nothing seems to work for me. The install process doesn’t seem to want to even start for me. It is sad since I already bought and create an account with the serial code i received, and now can’t even install the game.. please someone put an end to my suffering

my processor is a little under but I doubt that should affect the installation process. If that was the problem shouldn’t I get an error of some kind, AFTER the installation is complete? when i try to enter the game I figure. Intel Dual 1.46 Chipset, but considering it did a pretty good job on other games with similar requirements should work here as well, right?

Your not going to be able to play the game on that and yes it could keep it from downloading but get a second opinion.

Probably won’t be able to run the game. GW2 is more CPU reliant than GPU, so if the processor is lacking, OP will need to upgrade computer hardware.

You should do some research on game requirements before you should buy it.

Do you have enough space to download/install the game? It says 0kbps probably because the directory you’ve set, or have yet to configure, is full. It’s a 20gb game by the way.

I don’t think the installation process is affected by how well your computer runs… OP should be able to at least run the install, and even run the game with an old rig (not too old mind you).

The best thing to do is to contact the Support team. You should get an answer in the next 24h.

That’s indeed pretty slow, but that shouldn’t stop him from installing the game.

It could but their no reason to waist HDD space for something your PC will not run.

The Installer is very basic in the terms that it will simply contact the GW2 servers and download all the required files. It is not till after the game is installed where checks are made on hardware.

The problem Cristian.8976 is facing is that something is blocking communication between the PC and the Download Server, wether this is an Anti-Virus, Firewall, Blocked Ports, Routing Issue or Access Restrictions on the network is why the Cristian.8976 is facing this problem.

Thanks all for the time and advice here. I know the processor is slow but as i said before should that affect the installation process? I did take care of all the other possibilities ( or so I think) remove firewall, programs blocking communication trhough internet, I do have more than 40 Gb free space on the disk, but still the install doesn’t run. I don’t even see the “Install game” button..

The laptop has 2 processors as I can see in the device manager, is there a way to improve perormance or the dual core means 2 processors? both doing only the 1.46 performance, or adds us? 1.46+1.46 ?

Also I did sent an inquiery to the support, haven’t received any answer yet ( 48 hours passed already)

Are you installing from disc or did you buy the game digitally? So long as you have the HDD space anything should install, but sometimes cdrom drives just suck. Unless it’s a nice system crippling DRM, which this game doesn’t have. If you are trying to install from the disc try downloading the client installer. You can get it from your profile on this site….I think.

Keep us posted. Strange problem to have..

Double check to see if UAC is on… and if you’re installing it by disk, right click the CD in Windows Explorer → open.

There should be a gw2.exe or something similar to that inside, and click it manually.

If nothing happens, or you get the same result, open up task manager to see if multiple gw2.exe are running at the same time… That might be an issue.

The issue now is that if you can’t install by CD, or digital download, it means that there is authorization issues with your account on windows.

MAKE SURE YOU RIGHT CLICK → RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR REGARDLESS OF UAC BEING OFF.

well thanks all, I gave it up, I will get a new PC with better specs and hopefully I will be able to play, or at least install it.

I did everything you said seekerking, same thing happens. tigirius, that program is not accurate, It says that I can’t run Guild Wars 2 because of CPU and GPU, but then it also says this for Aion, which I have installed and runs ok on low settings. But that is not the issue here.. at least should install the game.. but maybe.. just maybe.. they have some kind of block system that check my system without me noticing before the installation process begins.. just a presumption… I really don’t know.. and still haven’t receid any answer from GW2 support.

Thank you all, again, have a nice evening/ day

What are you specs for your new PC. Check your internet connection and/or firewall rules etc on the PC and router?

Just to confirm— you were able to download the installer file and see it in your download folder? Then you dragged it to your desktop and double click to run? Did you right click to run it? Did you run it as an administrator?

Started the executable, ge2.dat and local.dat and gw2.tmp appears image pops up and freezes and the gw2.dat gains “size” but the screen says downloading 0 Kb/ 0 Kb/s…

Did you install anything else after a fresh windows 7 installation. Something might be interfering. Antivirus maybe?

So you have this issue with two desktop PC now. Even after getting a new PC with fresh windows 7 installation its starting to look like something at your router.

that really makes no sense for me. what’s the connection between the router an the " install game" button that I should have??? that is the main problem I’m having… no “Install” button for me. Is the client broken, or what?

Yeeeeeeey, problem solved – thank you all for the patience and support , now here is what fixed it, kinda odd.

1. Turned off all Firewalls and Windows Defender
2. Uninstalled all programs except Windows and directX
3. Used the MSCONFIG settings I found on this forum
4. removed router and connected the PC directly to the fiber link, and set up a new Internet connection
5. restarted the Computer and run the gw2.exe

Amazingly, it worked now is downloading the game 20% already. I’m so glad, happy really. See you all in game
