I am running a HP pv7
win 7 64
i7 2.2
8g
radeon 6770 switchable graphics

My question is: does the speed of internet have anything to do with fps?

At full setting and best resolution for my laptop 17" 1920×1080 I am getting 15fps
At the lowest settings on a lower res, I am getting 15fps

I live in Peru and our internet is put together with string and cups so wanted to know if there was a connection between the to.

All drivers are uptodate…I think since the switchable graphics cards are braindamage to update and HP driver support is done by a monkey with no arms.

Any advice/help/answer to question would be appreciate.

Seems about right unfortunately. GW2 benefits most from a high clocked CPU, which laptops just don’t have.

Ye, you have an i7 but one with a very low clocked CPU. This is propably your bottleneck. Besides Internet speed does not affect FPS as far as i know. Its Ping that is affected by your internetquality.

For those switchable amd gpus there are quite useful custom drivers on the internet Id try them first to see if it helps a little bit. Game is still like under construction not even close to being optimized so before getting paranoid you should give it some time.

Also do you play any other sort of Mmo/fps anything online? How do they perform on your device? Tried lowering in-game detail settings to see if it makes any difference cuz 1080p GW2 is quite heavy for the 6770.

Gonna be waiting a very, very long time if you expect them to improve performance more than 10-20%. Just look at SWTOR or Rift.
