Hi everyone.
I’ve recently changed my pc for a better appareance of the game.

I play with high/ultra settings:
Max res ; refresh rate 60hz ; frame limiter -> unlimited
animation – evironment – textures – shaders = high
LOD distance – shadows = ultra
none anti aliasing ( screenfx activated)
reflections = terrain & sky
render sampling = native
post processing = low
All the bottom features are active except for depth blur

I don’t understand why i see a “lag” effect while i’m running in lion’s arch.
I play with no problems in explo-pve with a good connession ( rare thing in my case )
but when i’m at LA i identify that issue.
I don’t think is a connession problem: it seems that if i put the video options on “better performance” , the problem go away.
Even the video driver isn’t the problem: a guild mate that have my same GPU doesn’t see non-fluid runs or moves.
can i localize the problem source?

this happens to EVERYONE.

Lion’s Arch is not only populated but also full of the unfamous bugged reflections and shadows.
there is nothing you can do about until it’s patched.

btw…NEVER set shadows to ultra. it causes micro stutters.

OP what CPU and GPU do u have ?

Whilst WvW will hammer CPU’s .. LA is also no slouch when it comes to CPU requirments. .however ..it also requirs a modern gaming 600 series nvidia card or 7000 series AMD card to play on high setitngs to stay at 60 FPS.

sounds like somebody needs to upgrade their cpu….

wish amd or intel would get a 6-8ghz range tricore out so we could build systems that could run gw2 at 60fps stable…..

no guys i’m ok with the cpu
intel i5-3570k 3.4ghz
and GPU: Gigabyte hd 7870 2gb oc core

I don’t use any type of overclock.
I’ve only set the voltage of my DRAM from 1.500 to 1.550
some say that increase the stability
by the way i don’t see any difference at LA
Thanks for the tip to “shadows” option
I stay normally to 60 fps but a LA i’ve obtained this range: 35-55 fps

ram: vengeance blue low profile 4×2

Have you touched the AA option in catalyst control panel? i was watching the guide
btw i don’t use fxaa since screenfx was working !

from the anet tips is clear that we must w8 for a game optimization

You will have to OC that CPU to gain any extra performance.
Check ur GPU usuage in LA and see if its maxing out, if it is not maxing out then ur CPU is holding u back becouse ur on stock clocks.

WvW will also have the same issue.

The mystic forge area has always been bad.

During BWE2 you would drop 30fps+ just walking into the area. They have optimized it a fair bit since, but it’s still not perfect.

like SolarNova says, your gonna need to oc that cpu…….duno why anybody would buy a K series without overclocking it…

Overclocking is easy you should be able to get like 7.1GHz like these guys did make sure to watch the video. That will run the game just fine LOL. http://www.techinstyle.tv/20120928724/post-types/news/rog-overclocking-gathering-bags-four-new-world-records/

Hey ZERK, that system my just be able to run gw2 at a stable 60fps….if it wasnt only on 1 core….wonder if they could manage 6 with 3 cores enabled :P
