Nvidia GeForce 337.50 "Wonder" Driver
its supposed to be mainly an update on how DX 11 is handled.
Though skyrim is dx9 and is listed, so we can hope.
I doubt these “key” optimizations will improve gw2 or any online game.. though it will be so nice if it will for people like me with ancient cpus (q6600) and somewhat decent gpus (570gtx).. framerate drops really low in wvw…
Should be beneficial for games that are heavy on the cpu and people with weaker cpu’s but also for people with sli systems since the drivers will apparantly reduce cpu stress.Im still doubtful if i will see any “huge” improvements though…
This will not help. Only people who created and worked with Guild wars 2 Engine can make some improvents if they would work kitten it. But this will never happen before Guild wars 3 or something miracle…
So now i have tested this Driver here are some Benches

For gw 2 i gained 2-3 Fps with this driver!
Sooo I tossed it on with the same scepticism that most people have with these types of wonder updates and lo and behold, it actually did lower GPU usage!
I use supersampling and my GPU is pretty much borderline in certain places on the map with it enabled. I never use reflections at all.
I went to where the Jungle Wurm spawns since I usually get 99% usage with no reflections and I was getting about 70% usage. I was stunned. I tossed on full reflections and it was at about 97% with 60fps at 1920×1080.
I will keep playing with reflections on full and check my gpu usage but if this stays the same then I am going to have to do a little jig!
EDIT: I recant my statement lol. I realized that I didn’t have my texture filtering settings to what I had prior to installing the driver. Seems to be about the same Another bubble bursted for gw2 performance boosts

It should have been obvious though :P Also, the update seems to be for improvement with the GTX 7xx series, not your 680, despite the 770 being a 680 on steroids.

Hey guys!
I updated the driver ~30 minutes ago.
Since then my game hasn’t stopped crashing when I open the hero panel. And only when I open the hero panel. Everything else works flawless. Didn’t have the issue prior to the beta update. Running 2x GTX770 in SLI.
The error log is big, but what I thought was important:
VerifyAccess failed or denied access with 0×80070716 – 1
Texture missing mip chain: 0×011f2e
Texture missing mip chain: 0×011f30
Texture missing mip chain: 0×014655
Texture missing mip chain: 0×014657
Texture ‘0×0968ef’ dimensions too small
Loading ‘0’ texture failed
Texture ‘0×0968f0’ dimensions too small
I’ll try running game with ‘-repair’ + will delete the ‘Local.dat’ file.. Will post the results.
Disable one card and try.

So I’ve done everything.
Repaired, deleted the ‘Local.dat’ file, used only 1 GPU – nothing happens.. Still the same, crash when I open the Hero panel.

Sorry for double-posting, but I suppose the issue is with the new drivers, more specifically with the updated DirectX optimizations. Sadly, GW2 isn’t updated to DX11 and, I believe, still runs on DX9… So this might be the big issue. The devs should definitely check this out, ‘cause it’s a huge issue.
The issue in reality is something in your specific setup. I run the latest NV beta drivers on both GTX 780 Ti and GTX 780, can open up the Hero panel just fine without issue on both rigs.
It’s not a “huge” issue as they are beta drivers, and also the issue you are experiencing is not that of others using the drivers. Also keep in mind, running SLI/Crossfire you should expect issues in games, regardless.
If you want though, you can submit it in a bug report to NV so they can look into it.

Peshyy.4196 It sounds like a corrupted .dat. The repair function should fix that up for you.
Sobe I was as giddy hell when I initially saw the results lol, then I realized that my NVCpl would have went to default haha(as well as muddy looking textures).
This optimization though is another reason for GW2 to start using a modern API
(I know it will never happen but one can dream)

Well, I didn’t have the issue prior to the drivers update. I haven’t changed anything in my PC, nor the settings of anything. Just the update.
And, as stated above, I’ve tried disabling SLI (I haven’t had any issues with SLI ever), tried repairing, tried everything I could.. idk what the problem is ;/
But oh well… if it’s just me, I’ll see what I can do. Thank you for the response
Ok, so I’ve found my issue. I’ve logged on another character and everything works fine. So it’s just my main I play everyday on. Meh, that’s a big issue. Will definitely contact Tech Support. Thank you for your support too, Stormcrow
Glad you narrowed it down and know where the issue is found, hopefully they can sort it out for you somehow.

Yeah. And I’ve found out what the issue is with my main character – if I set Render Sampling to Supersampling, it crashes. If it’s set to Native, everything works fine. Guess I’ll have to play with Native for the moment xD
FYI the 337..5 ‘miracle’ driver has been defunct. The massive gains advertised were made by making games that didn’t work with SLI, work with SLI, thus the huge gains. The actual gains for this driver over the previous will be around 0-10% depending on the game on single GPU systems.
Crafty PR/marketing by Nvidia.

So.,whats your point ? An increase in performance is still there. As they have mentioned "" SLI Users will benefit from this driver"…….
So I’ve done everything.

I’m having the same problem.
I installed this this morning and it does seem to speed up my loading AFTER the initial first zone load when starting the game. It also seems to reduce loading screens in Skyrim in the same manner.
BTW, the new version works on ALL GForce chips (just the improvements will not be a dramatic or not possible on lower / older chips). I have a GTX660 based card.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
So I’ve done everything.

Same issues ater installing new beta drivers. Locks when opening the Hero panel, total makeover kit etc.
I’m seeing the same problem with the Hero Panel on an Asus G750JM with a GTX860m. Going to try to disable supersampling now.
-Update: Native Sampling appears to have fixed it.
