I play Engineer and use the Grenade Kit fairly often but sometimes it’s a pain to spam the 1 key, so I looked online and got a software named AutoHotkey and made up a small macro for a 1 key auto-fire basically.

Now before I’m actually going to use it for realz, I’m wondering if it would be considered botting by the game?

I sure hope not or all of the mice customization software should be considered as such as well.

You can always control-right click to setup your 1 key as auto-attack, within the game client itself.

It seems to me that botting requires two-way action … i.e., capturing information from the game and responding to it, or vice versa. Anything you can do with a single-ended macro (or in your case putting a weight on a key) wouldn’t be botting in my mind. As Winespring says, even the game lets you set up any key for autoattack, but I can also chain abilities with one key from my gaming keyboard and I’m pretty certain that is not considered botting.

Grenades are all ground targeted on dry land, hence not Auto-attack eligible (you can set it but you still have to spam)

You can turn on the option for fast ground targetting or something like that. It will throw the grenade at what wherever your mouse is when you activate and not show the targetting circle.

I know but that’s not the best way of getting the most effective/maximum range when sniping cannons on WvW for example. I like Targeting circles. Targeting circles are cool.
