Hello I got problem, I want to guest america(tarnished coast) but I’m on europe server (gandara). My friends from pvp guild are in europe, but my friends which I want to play dungeons etc. are in america. I wish I was able to play with my friends but changing server cost 1800 diamonds. Is there any option to guest america server or at least move 1 character from account to different server ?

Well, you can’t guest from EU to America nor can you move only one character.
So you will have to move servers in order to play on an american server.

There is a free option to move, but that would mean deleting all your characters (save important stuff in the bank).
When you have deleted them you get the option to select a new server when you make a new character.

This. Just a small note. afaik, you don’t get an option to select the server when making a new character then. You still need to go to world selection. The charge for the switch will be set to 0 though

I got it from the wiki and it states: "The transfer fee is only charged if you have characters on your account; in other words, if your account has no characters or you delete all existing characters first, you will be prompted to select a new home world after creating a new character, free of charge.

But I haven’t tried it myself, so I have no idea really.

Well I want to play with friends on both server, removing characters everyday is not an option for me ;/

Unfortunately, you can only guest to servers in the same region as your home account. A perusal through the dev posts sub-forum will explain why. Happy adventuring in Tyria, regardless. =)

I can understand not wanting to delete your characters.
But that leaves you only one option (unless you buy a second account). That option is paying the 1800 gems for move.
It would also mean you would have to leave your guild.

It sucks, I know.

Long story short – EU and NA have separate data centers. The characters are stored in a database for one data center, or the other. The guesting setup can’t handle switching between centers (not sure how much is difficulty, and how much is data integrity worries)

The traffic from and to the datacenters is a lot lower on GW1 then on GW2. About 20 times as much data.

Please dont talk bout things you clearly don’t understand and on top of all don’t wine. You had a question and you got your answer. I understand your dissapointed, but please don’t blame arenanet on this or call them money hungery, when they have made a state of the art game that is better then many other mmo with monthly fee. It’s unfair.

Sometimes, to step forward, you need to step backward. In this case, by having our characters have more data, be more customized, be more unique, it makes them have more data.
