Guild Wars 2

Hello Guild Wars Team,

I was playing on my original GW account and I came across this error “Error 244”. I get the error under two circumstances:

1) If I’ve been playing and wish to change characters, I select “change character” as an option when logging out. It returns me to the character select screen. When I select a character, it asks that I re-enter my password. This is when I get that error message. If I log out completely, and log in anew, I do not get this message and can choose a new character to play with.

2) I recently purchased a new character slot. To enter the key, I am prompted to enter my password. I do. When I press the “next” button, I get Error 244.

When I get this error, I am still able to surf the web, log into secure sites, and I have clean ping tests with expected times. The network connection problem does not appear to be on my end. I am also able to long into the game from start up and play, so there doesn’t seem to be an obvious connection issue on your end (unless the initial log in server is different from the second one prompted in verification/re-logs).

In case number one, it’s sort of a non-issue. I can log out and begin from scratch. In case number two, I have no way of redeeming my new character slot.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

I’m running on a windows 10 systems.

Nevermind. I was just able to add the key.

Problems that solve themselves are the best kind, no?
