Overall Silence
As this forum seems to garner little attention from Anet the best Mac customers can do is submit support tickets for problems they are having. If a ticket submitted has not been resolved then update the ticket with more details and to let them know the problem has not been fixed. Note, do not submit the multiple tickets for the same problem as this will bog down the response. However, do update your tickets if the problem has not been resolved. Sadly, that’s the best we can do.

I actually think that would help more than people realise.
People are posting the same problems over and over again inside these forums and it’s not having a whole lot of impact. If every single person were to submit a support ticket for their problems and specify that the mac issues continue to be unresolved then they would be faced with a very large amount of support tickets. It’s harder for them to ignore support tickets than it is forum posts.
You will however have to do this minus my help because I have no issues since I still haven’t updated to Mavericks…
Right, i understand what your both saying and Foxx Mavericks I really cannot see how it would be an issue as Mav has been out since before these problems started occurring most of it started around Tower of Madness and the most recent dec 10th patch has caused the biggest issues. None of this was problematic prior and many were running mavs.

The Tgupdate running every time was an issue from the get go with mavericks (or at least there were a couple of people for whom it was). I don’t see how it can NOT be Mavericks. If you look at the post where everyone is posting their specs, every single one of them has Mavericks. NONE of them with issues had ML or lower. I myself have ML still and have never experienced a single issue. So given the information in front of me I have to say that it seems like mavericks is at least part of the issue.
@FlamingFoxx. As I said, unless you have something constructive to say, there is no point responding as you are not offering technical support.
First support tickets do nothing. I opened a support ticket for all the issues I posted on and none of them were fixed, just “We know about the issues”. I even had a developer in game ask me to test some stuff when I first noticed the issue (Thanksgiving, nearly 3 weeks ago).
Second, the tgupdate has absolutely nothing to do with Mavericks. It had been working perfectly until I had to do a clean re-install of GW2. There are people who don’t have any issues who are on Mavericks.
“I myself have ML still and have never experienced a single issue. "
Because you play it using Bootcamp (according to you), which is the Windows client.
I agree with MikeeW , none of this started happening until around the tower of Nightmares.
I have it installed both on OSX and on Windows through bootcamp…
I actually WAS being constructive.
I’m pointing out that the issues only exist for people running the game in Mavericks – which is valuable to know because it means that the issue is easier to isolate, and also means that if people need to they can install an older version of OSX on a separate partition in order to play.
The tgupdate issue was happening the second Mavericks was released, I’ve been monitoring the forum for a long time so I can say that with absolute certainty. But yes the tower of nightmares update did bring in other issues for people.
Don’t assume that someone is being unconstructive just because you don’t see what they’re trying to point out or don’t see the value in it.
Can you provide evidence that the tgupdate issue was happening at this rate? I have been following the forums too and I did not see this issue at all until this last round of updates.
Edit: Were you running a prerelease version of 10.9 at some point? Because I think this is the first time the game has had a mac patch since 10.9 was released so it really seems like this is a case with the mac patcher just being broke under 10.9.

I updated to Mavericks when it was first released but the TgUpdate, gem purchase problem and mouse sensitivity has only happened to me since the patch of 10 December. All in all, I am not suffering too badly and Mavericks is worth it to me anyway. I always like to keep my computers as updated as possible. I am going to bootcamp this Mac though. I hate to do it to such a lovely machine but I crashed at Shadow Behemoth the other day. I expected it because the zerg was big and it has happened before when there has been a lot of players at the one event. I am running an i7 IMac. I can’t get better than that. It is disheartening.
I agree. Trough support I’m often told they try to read all posts here on the sub forum. What would they think when they read this and still don’t feel like dropping a line “Don’t worry guys we are working on it” but rather say nothing. I can only think that if they say nothing they are not obliged to release a fix anytime soon. No words = no promise.
Yea, again Mavericks was out long before these happened myself and my wife both have been running Mavericks since days one the TGupdate just started happening on the dec 10 patch. If others have had this issue they did not make it known as if you check the topics most of these are popping up right after dec 10.
no, MAVERICKS HAD kitten TO DO with these problems. The FIRST thing i noticed after updating to mavericks is that the game ran a lot better. ANet kittened up something with the living world updates.
And the fact of the matter is… I have submitted multiple support tickets on different toons with different information on the same glitches things (POI’S not registering, game crashes, the fact that calling a port a beta is ridiculous) and i haven’t gotten a response from them with any of them yet.
I’ll keep playing the game. But i’m done recommending it to anybody to play, let alone spending any money in the gem store. ANet obviously does not plan on working on a native mac beta client.

My testing with the updater suggests otherwise. I could successfully patch the same client in 10.7 but could not under 10.9. This suggests there is an issue with the patcher under 10.9 for whatever reason. This doesn’t mean 10.9 is bad. Maybe something got depreciated and the patcher dev either wasn’t on the ball or doesn’t exist. Still, this does appear to be a problem limited to certain OSes.
God forbid a member of the community and paying customer have an opinion regardless of the positivity of it it is the truth.
