[PC] Constant DC, Login Server Errors
Yes, i have same problem since i’ve started to play GW2. During such DC times i can’t access game, GW2 sites (including wiki), or login in launcher.
In game itself when it happens, i will not get instant DC from server, because somehow connection to instance server is okey, i can still play, do damage, run around. But if i will try to use something that require login server – whisper someone, use TP, etc, it will popup login server issues message and force dc me from server. So there is some issues with connection to login server (and when it happens GW2 sites are down aswell for me, like i mentioned before), I also have friends who have same problem time to time.
bird — are you in the EU? (Seeing “qwest” makes me think not.) Anyway, just got an e-mail that there’s a new connectivity issues involving our Frankfurst (Germany) data center and the team is working on it. If you’re not in the EU, then something else is the cause. In either case (EU or not EU) the team is collecting information to try to resolve issues.
Here’s a way to help the team:
- If playing in EU:
pathping -w 500 -q 100 -4 206.127.158.1 - If playing in NA:
pathping -w 500 -q 100 -4 64.25.39.1
Getting the output of those commands via email will really help.
Here are instructions for Windows.
- Click Start.
- Type cmd and press Enter.
- If playing in EU:
- Type “pathping -w 500 -q 100 -4 206.127.158.1 > C:\pathping.txt” without the quotes and press Enter.
- If playing in NA:
- Type “pathping -w 500 -q 100 -4 64.25.39.1 > C:\pathping.txt” without the quotes and press Enter.
- Allow several minutes for the pathping to complete.
- A file will be created on your C:\ drive called pathping.txt.
- Type exit and press Enter to close the command window.
- Open your preferred e-mail program and start an e-mail to Support@GuildWars2.com with the subject line “EU Latency Issue”
- Now, in your prepared e-mail, click “Attach file” and type “C:\pathping.txt" and your e-mail program should find the file and attach it to your mail.
- Send us the email.
Thanks for sending us this info — the team feels sure it will help narrow down the problem!

Sorry for not mentioning it earlier Gaile, but I’m a player from NA, Virginia to be exact. I noticed on reddit there are other people experiencing the same issue from NA servers. I’ll be sure to link this response there, granted the forums work! Responding to threads is spotty because the website will not connect sometimes for several minutes.
When doing the pathping, it is coming back with an “Access denied.” message. I have tried several times to no avail.
i am having same problem also access denied from attempting path ping
@bird, Access dinied message is probably related to not having access to write directly into C: hard drive. Try to use “pathping -w 500 -q 100 -4 64.25.39.1 > C:\games\pathping.txt”, where “games” can be replaced with any directory that non admin users can write to (if you are EU like me it will be “pathping -w 500 -q 100 -4 206.127.158.1 > C:\games\pathping.txt” instead).
If you have UAC on you’ll need to run cmd.exe as Administrator. You can do that by typing cmd.exe but don’t hit enter. Instead right click on it and select “Run as Administrator”.
Thanks Brad, that worked! Here’s the pathping file. I will still send it to support, however as I am not an EU player, I’ll title it something different.

Second best misspelling ever. “Frankwurst” would have been even better Merry Christmas everybody.
On Topic:
Since about 10 minutes connectivity seems to have improved. I can access Trading Post now without problems and can relog without “Cannot access login server at this time”.
Server: Desolation. Country of residence: Germany.
I can confirm that the connectivity is better. I missed the 07:15 UTC Great Jungle Wurm but since then I have no issues.
I now have 2 characters lost in limbo between Divinity Reach, and where they were.
DR takes very very long to load, then fails and GW2 logs out with the following connection error: 7:0:0:794:101
EU player btw

Have the same, In specific the character that is in Divinitys Reach. Only tested another character that isn’t there, which did load in properly atm.

Myself and a guildie (both UK) unable to load in.

I am also having the Divinity’s Reach issue (EU-UK), but was able to successfully load the map by guesting onto another world.
I think the problem is that particular instances of DR are broken. In particular, the instance with server IP address 206.127.159.128 never seems to work (whereas various 206.127.146.* servers are OK).

same here cant connect to game onli character select
Someone mentioned in another topic (about this) a way to, at least, unblock yer char(s);
At char secect screen choose World Selection and Guest to another world.
Worked the 2e try for me (and u only have 2 different worlds a day to guest to).
My chars loaded to the nearest uncontested WP where i was.
It does seem to happen logging into or zoning out of Divinitys Reach. The same report is coming out of players in map chat
I get Error code: 42.0.9001:4409 when I try to log in.
