atiumdag.dll seems to be the source here, seems to be a lot of it around the net. I’ve tried a few fixes but nothing works.

Windows 10
16GB DDR3 RAM
1TB HDD
Radeon R9 270x

Troubleshooting I’ve done:
Attempted both normal and beta drivers, and even older drivers for my video card
updated all drivers on my machine
reinstalled the game (twice)

I’ve looked around and it seems a lot of people are having this issue with the atiumdag.dll.

I might have missed a fix? but I didn’t spot anything.

It’s windows 10 with it not officially released yet there is no game support for it its most likely a driver that is causing the crash your only hope at this time is to go back to Windows 7 or 8 till 10 is officially released and all the drivers get approved and updated and Anet tests the game on it and works out any bugs that 10 will cause but this will take time even after 10 is released.

Opinions are like ______ everyone has one I could
put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens

Even though plenty of other people are having the exact same issue with windows 7, 8 and 8.1… What’s going back to those OS’ going to do again?

I’ve resolved this myself, compatibility mode. Thanks for the advice cough

Just to reiterate; My ATI dll issue was resolved on Windows 10 by setting it to compatibility mode with Windows 8

Only IF they have other PC problems.

Furthermore, I’ve never had an issue updating OR playing the game – which was exactly the same when I played World of Warcraft (for 5 years, mind you). Let me clarify that WoW did have server issues on occasion, but that was really obvious and affected everyone. Despite the server issues, I was still able to update the game without problems. I haven’t encountered these server issues with GW2.

Some people don’t know the proper way to build or configure their PCs for gaming. As an electronics and computer tech (for over 30 years), I don’t have such issues. This means that the PC builder (or perhaps, buyer) either doesn’t know how to configure their computer, or they don’t know enough to build one properly.

Then they complain when it doesn’t work properly. I’ve never had this problem with ANY modern MMO (I play Rift as well). Sometimes, internet providers throttle (shape) traffic. This has nothing to do with the GW servers AND THEY CAN’T FIX IT.

I play an elementalist on the Isle of Janther server. I log in and play daily WITHOUT ISSUES. Common sense will tell you that THAT is not a server issue.

Good day.

Edited to clarify WoW’s server issues.
