I’ve done a lot of research but I cannot figure out what my problem on my computer would be. I get average 20-30 fps on PvE and about 4fps in WvW. Settings are on medium.

I’ve tried the link which gives u the bench mark and my cpu and gpu are on the higher parts.

I’ll list my specs:

AMD athlon II X2 260
Radeon HD 6570 2GB ddr3
2gb ram
Windows XP sp3 32bit

Anyone know what I would need to upgrade to have my game running a lot better? at the moment its just not enjoyable at this fps..

I hate to say this but you need to upgrade your everything or play on low settings.

I would go for a better processor. The cpu you have is a low end cpu, but it appears you have a am3 motherboard so you have replacement options.

I would also throw another 2gb in that, it will give you a little head room as you should be very close to maxing it out when playing games.

This is the cheapest way to do it.

Find out what your motherboards model is then go and check out it’s cpu compatibility list. You should also check your power supply and make sure that it’s high enough to handle it.

You’re on the seriously low end of things which will make this a bit more complicated.

AM3 Motherboards are still fairly antiquated to upgrade the CPU unless under a severe budget.
Most people on the forums would recommend an i7 haswell 4650k cpu with an aftermarket cooler for overclocking.
The optimization of GW2 is terribad and needs med/high CPU power to run well.

Much like Stormcrow is saying you would be upgrading three year old hardware with more three year old hardware and guild wars 2 does need quite a bit more then other games to run adequately.

If you’ve got the money, newer is better, but if you don’t there are still ways to get you higher up on the totem pole.

Considering your board is likely AM3 with that Athlon 2 processor in there, you can probably put in a Phenom II X4 965BE or something around that area and it should run a bit better at the least.

I would personally go for Intel, AMD seriously does not perform with this game. Slightly pricier but the upgrade should keep you good to game for a couple of years to come!

As Solar said, don’t expect miracles even with top of the line hardware
