Password Recovery Broken
If I remember correctly, it was disabled due to issues related to hacking Contact support if you have forgotten your password.
That’s completely unhelpful, since Support not only hasn’t responded to my help request made via this website yesterday, but the request doesn’t even show as ever ever having been made when I check its status under my account!
This is complete BS. I have better things to do than waste my time jumping through broken hoops trying to discover a way once again to play the game I paid for.
Furthermore, the “Recover Account” function also doesn’t work. I input all of the required information, and the following message is displayed: “There’s been an error. Contact Support”.
Since my Support requests aren’t even being recorded, this is useless.
This feature is awful from a design standpoint, as all of the following is unclear:
1. For Amazon.com digital purchasers, is the game’s serial code the same as the activation code sent by amazon? I received no email from anyone containing anything specifically called a GW2 “serial code”.
2. If multiple games were purchased at the same time using one amazon account, all activation keys are shown in the same location on the amazon “my account” page, and you may have to guess which key was used for which game (assuming the activation key and serial code are even the same!)
3. I have a character named Ashraman. I’m not sure if the spelling of my other character’s name is Sabertalon or Sabretalon. But on my friend’s GW2 Contact List, my name is shown as “ashraman.8469”. On the Recover Account page, should I use the name Ashraman or ashraman.8469?

I just submitted a second question using the support feature on this webpage, and once again, there is no record of it. Lousy all around.
