Guild Wars 2

I just bought and installed GW2. Install went just fine without any problems. Until I created an account and started to download the patch. I noticed that downloading at ceased at 1% with approximately 60,000 files left to download. Downloading never restarts until I close the launcher and re-open it. Then it downloads for about 1 to 2 minutes and returned to (0.00KB/sec) I dont think its a network issue with me for I play many online games and never run into these kinds of issues. I cant be expected to sit here and close re-open the launcher every 2 minutes. PLease help.

I would like to also add that I have disabled any firewalls/security apps on my computer and it still seems to happen regardless.

I did the 10,000 odd GW2 set up, but when I go to acctually set it up it says 0KB/sec, it then closes and nothing happens? My fire wall is turned off. Can someone respond to this please, or this is a waste of money to have:(

My launcher also freezes a lot with a black background. It seems to happen when I click anything outside of the launcher and check back.(For example, looking at these forums while downloading the files will make it freeze when I click the launcher again to see the progress) Guess my launcher is lonely and gets mad when I look away…

I have been having problem with launcher freezing at random intervals between logging in, downloading updates and just random clicking on anything in it. The thing that worked for me was turning off in-game support in Raptr which i previously turned on even though the program said it was still not fully tested. so if u are running any programs which enable you to send IM’s while ingame, try disabling them and trying again.

anyone fixed this problem? sitting around watching a 0 kb/sec download for 1.5 hours now -.-

Try these, Helped me when i had same problem

Are you an administrator on your computer or on Windows Vista / 7?
You may need administrator privileges to run the client or properly access the folder in which your game client is located. Try starting Gw2.exe by right-clicking on the file and selecting Run as Administrator.

Is the folder that contains the game set to Read Only?
The client needs to add files to the folder through patching before it will run properly. To check this, right-click on your Guild Wars 2 folder and select Properties. From here, un-check the option for Read-Only and left click on Ok.
Have you updated your video card drivers recently?

AMD users should be using Version 12.3 located here.
Nvidia users should be using Version 296.10 located here.

Meh, I thought I would find an answer here, my problem is:
It downloads normally till 4% or even less, then it just stops.

Oh, I thought after such a long time this would’ve gotten resolved. I decided to re-install this awesome game but still having this same problem and cant find any help around here.
