I don’t know where to post this, I’ve tried searching the forums for this and nothing pops up. Is anyone else having issues with the patch that was released a few hours ago? My launcher is stuck on 1 file remaining. I’ve left it to run its course, I’ve restarted the launcher dozens of times, restarted my PC several times, nothing helps.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s been sitting here for almost 3 hours waiting for a kitten patch to download? I’ve never had this issue with patches before. Ever!! So no, there are no security system issues or firewall issues or A/V issues – nothing has changed between now and the last patch that came out earlier this week (which patched perfectly first time).

i got the same problem, i am so super annoyed. but i read on 1 forum that may be gw2 patch server is a bit below par. i can well believe it.at this rate i might get to play if i sit in front of my pc and restart gw2 all figgin day.

Update: Almost 5 hours later the patcher finally decided to wake up and patched the last file I needed. Come Anet, 5 hours delay waiting for your patcher to download the patch? This is really unacceptable. Thats basically half my play day gone today due to the patcher not working.

As an added note, I’ve done absolutely nothing in terms of system changes. The patcher just suddenly decided to work again. For the past 5 hours I would get speeds of 20-30Kb/s max, for a short burst of 10-20 seconds every time I opened the launcher, after which the speed dropped down to 0.00 and stayed there, permanently. Now it just worked again, giving me the 900Kb-1Mb speed I’m used to.

You really gotta work on your patching server capacity. I understand peak time patches will slow everyone down in terms of d/l the patch, but c’mon – 5 hours of nothing is pushing it!

now it says connection error after half an hour of 0kb speed download at 1 file remaining if someone is there during the weekend can u look into the problem for us i dont want to waste all of my weekend playtime couse i cant play i work during the week so nights and weekends is the only time i can play pls try and fix this

Same problem, short 10-20 Kbps burst then 0… but It doesnt even show how many files remaining

Me too .. from 30 kbps.. to 0..

also in case any of the moderators is wondering i have the best internet connection in europe romania has the highest speed and constancy so the problem cant be from my cpu or internet connection

Maybe it’s a certain region on which their servers fail to patch :-? I’m from Romania too… I never have issues with anything else (for example my battlenet downloader works just fine now). I had issues with the GW2 launcher in the past but it never did this.

yea maybe or maybe were talking to ourselves couse i dont think there is someone there who can help us beeing the weekend and all so ill guess well have to leave or cpus for 5 hours to download like the main poster did

I ran into this same issue this morning. After about a minute I restarted the launcher and the last file updated successfully.

wow i did that 10 times and after that i tried restarting my net , my cpu, i even shut down my cpu then finnaly guess what nothing same problem persists

maybe anet can put the last file on the website and we can download it from there seperately i dont know how this works but ive done this in previous mmos getting some files from the website

This problem is not just limited to Romania. I have been having this exact same issue since January this year. Every two weeks I need to waste 4 days downloading the newest patch. Every time I file a ticket I get asked to submit my pc specs, and shut down non-essential programs. I know that they are just doing they’re job, but I assure you it’s not my side where the problem is. I have an -image shortcut loaded, and as soon as I hit 0.00 I shut down and restart the program. So much for automation.

Yep, I have the same issue too. It takes 10 or so restarts before the launcher even comes up.

I know exactly what frustration you all are having >.> I wish I could offer some better advice on how to resolve the problem, but as I said in my follow up post, the only thing I did was restart the launcher repeatedly at one point, and then I gave up and left it for a couple hours. After that it somehow just sorted itself out. I’m pretty sure there are problems on their patching server – HDD problems or Network issues maybe – who knows, but something interfering with our downloading of the patch. All I can say is I hope it comes right for you like it did for me >_<

Happens to me too every time. Launcher stops downloading with 1 file remaining and download speed drops to zero. Have to restart launcher to get the last file.

I have the same problem at the moment, i live in Romania where we have the best internet in the world i believe. Never had this kind of isues untill yesterday. After 5-6 hours my last file decided to download himself, now, after i woke up, for like 4 hours i`m trying to get into the launcher. This is what i get. I`m starting to regret that i bought this game despite i like it.

If i let it in the background i get this:
I wish they spend more time on fixing important issues than rushing out laggy, unpolished Living World updates every 2 weeks

You all might get faster results by submitting a support ticket usually no one from Anet will respond to this forum one weekends. This is a rare issue that has happen to people in the past but I can’t find any posts one it or maybe someone has an answer but a support ticket will most likely be faster.

Thanks for the advice Feirlista, I have indeed issued support tickets about this. Anet has always responded promptly and professionally, but they also have to follow procedure. So every time I have to list my pc specs, shut down non essential programs etc etc. Next time I’ll just send them a networkdiag file

For the Romanian users, if your provider is RDS use your DIGI mobile stick (assuming you have one) to patch the game then swap back to your fiberlink (PPPOE) connection.

It is a 100% connectivity issue and the above solution was tested successfully.

Later edit: if you still have issues after doing the above:

• open command prompt
• type: ipconfig /flushdns then press enter
• start the game

It’s obviously not on my side as I tried to update using my neighbor’s WiFi and still the same thing happens…
