So, I live in the Canadian Arctic. My internet (as is the same for everyone up here) is satellite, and has a monthly cap of 10gb. I can exceed the cap, at a cost of $20/gb. As you can imagine, I monitor this pretty closely and am careful with my daily usage.

I had some trouble logging in to GW2 the last month, and have just today been able to log in. I was immediately confronted with a 5700-ish file patch download. After 2 of those files had ticked off, I had already downloaded more than 10mb. For someone on a hard, and expensive cap, this was worrisome and I was forced to stop.

All of that to say: is there anywhere that the download sizes for the various patches are listed. I need to know this if I’m actually going to play the game.

Thanks!

The last patch was like a gig. I would expect another one of similar size at the end of Feb.

Do you know if there’s a comprehensive listing of patch sizes somewhere?

I’m not exactly certain of the last time I updated (Sometime around the first week of January), and no doubt there have been several patches since then.

No clue. The wiki lists the content of all the patches but not their size. There were only a few small updates in Jan. before the big patch though.

It would be so handy for people in situations like mine if ANET just published the patch sizes, or let it show on the updater. I really can’t fathom why they wouldn’t show the it. I don’t care how many files are updating. I care about how much I’m downloading.
