Okay, here’s my situation:
I purchased the game for myself, used my Discover card no problems.
I try to purchase another copy for a friend, my card is declined, So I check in with my company, it was flagged as suspicious and my card was disabled. I settled it with them easily, then I try to purchase it again, Nada. I tried with my MasterCard next, Nada.
Payment Authorization Failed.
It doesn’t make sense to me why my card would work once, then I try to purchase it again and it just doesn’t work. I’ve sent a ticket, no response.
The relative good news, the sale was extended:
However, I find myself in an awkward situation because I work tomorrow and won’t have a way to make the purchases at work. I’ve snooped around out of curiosity, and my experience is not secluded. Other people are having literally the exact same problem. Can we please get an update on this or something? I don’t really want to pay 40$ for a game I could’ve bought for 10$ because of a problem I have no control of.
My friend and I are having the same issue. She tried to purchase it for herself but when it said it failed, we tried my card as I had just bought something in-game with no trouble via the gem store. But again we got the message that the payment authorization had failed. She had tried swapping browsers, disabling add-block, and the whole nine yards, but nothing happened. However out of curiosity I went and checked my online bank statement only to find that there is indeed a pending charge to ArenaNet for $10.00 even though the site had state that it failed and no confirmations or emails have shown up.

I have tried several times, i guess i will have over 40 pending charges..
just tried to purchase 5, got 1 more left to buy.

I’m going to be so annoyed if they all go through at once then all of a sudden I have 500$ worth of charges.
Well she tried 4 or 5 times before we tried my card and none of the charges went through according to her statement, they never showed up at all.

well for f sakes, It is getting late. I have no idea why this is failing.
They clearly don’t either. Tried to submit a support ticket and we can’t even do that now.

Wonderful. I understand they’re probably overloaded or something with purchases, but I’ve been trying on and off for about 5 hours now. I haven’t really gotten any useful or helpful information whatsoever.
Same here. Hopefully they will resolve all this nonsense and for those of us trying to make these purchases will honor the sale prices regardless of when they get around to each and everyone one of us.

i may get 20 accounts lol
i think it’s because the transaction is overload and it wont allow any transaction(?)

Checking in, I’m Calico’s friend from earlier. Tried it again just for the sake of curiosity, and a payment (on the original card I tried, my own) went through. Nothing seems to have changed, but it let me buy the game this time as well as sent me the confirmation email. Everything seems to be working now. All I can offer is that maybe they fixed it? Try again?

Nothing seems to have changed, but it let me buy the game this time as well as sent me the confirmation email. Everything seems to be working now. All I can offer is that maybe they fixed it? Try again?

For some reason, switching to an another E-mail adress (from hotmail.fi to a univ address) allowed me to buy the game. I got a “payment authorization failed” notice when I tried to purchase the game with c.card or online banking, on multiple different times.
Hopefully this helps at least some of you :-/
