Performance dip with latest update
In every single case where I have seen this issue, changing the graphic settings does squat nothing.
Sadly no specific guide will be able to tell you exactly what to do. Most we can do is, give you ideas on what to try to troubleshoot it. Since you are on a laptop, not sure if you can re-seat the ram. Some models let you access the RAM to re-seat it into the PCB, others do not unless you unscrew it. Do not unscrew it if you still have a warranty, and the access to ram is not a feature.
You could try reinstalling the graphics drivers. This has helped other people in the past.
You could try doing a repair of the guild wars 2 files. Google how to do that.
MSI GTX 1080 Sea Hawk EK X 2xSLI 2025 / 11016 MHz, liquid cooling custom loop.
Samsung 850 Evo 500 GB. HTC Vive.
Its the latest update. I can tell you just from acoustic noise of fans that my pc is working unreasonably “harder” on this latest update. Mine has the power to not notice particular performance dips but there is something amiss on Anets side that they need to fix.
Nothing has been added really apart from the squad ui so as usual by changing something in this engine, something somewhere else has been crippled.
i notice that too, i have changed nothing in the graphics settings and my RAM (4 GO) become full. I check all the running processes of my computer, i feel like gw2 ask more RAM to run.
edit: nevermind i think i found my problem it was the effect LOD option which was not active and do a 600 Mo Loss of RAM

Hello, I also have problems with the latest patch. Last night i had 5 crashes and today (after patch) 30fps drop (from 50-60 to 20-25).
Also changing to low or ultra setting it doesn’t affect the fps, they still remain low

Same, yup. It’s been mentioned in quite a few other threads now. You might notice that your computer runs a lot hotter now as well, which is mildly disturbing since the game has not visibly changed. I miss my solid 60fps… but it does run slightly better at low specs (a bad eyesore, but at least smoother).

Omg, same here!! This is after the update… what’s going on?
Switching between Best Performance and Best Appearance graphics presets does little to the framerate.
So it’s a CPU issue. Some errant logic perhaps?
