Permanent Ban;
Hi, my friend had his account terminated last night and he is very upset at the moment after putting 500+ hours into it and over $100 worth of real money support towards ANet.
He has a ticket which is 121115-001511 & is waiting on a reply.
Just wondering so i can assure him it’ll be ok, how long is estimated, because of the lost shores event, until he may receive a reply?

Even though I instantly feel bad for you guys, I’d like to know what he’s banned for, because that doesn’t happen for no reason…
Every case is unique so it really depends. Earliest I’ve seen is 12 hours. And if his account was terminated for botting or game tampering, they will review it. If it was for fraud, then he will have to buy a new game if he wants to keep playing. That’s what I’ve seen so far.
His support ticket should be enough.
I had the exact same thing happen to me yesterday. After I got home from work I found that my account had been banned for “modifying or tampering with the game”.
This is ridiculous because I wouldn’t even know how to do that even if I wanted to so I sent in a support ticket explaining this.
Maybe add one question to it to state to politely ask Arenanet to move along with it as swiftly as possible and explain possible (I assume erroneous) reasons how he MIGHT have mistakenly had his account banned.
For example I’m an expat living and working in China so I explained to them that my IP address is Chinese and it sometimes changes because of the internet provider you have to use here but that I am in no way affiliated with hackers. I also play a Ranger so I mentioned it might be possible people mistakenly reported me for botting.
Then I ADDED another question to it asking if they could possibly unblock me before the Lost Shores event started because I knew for 100% certain a mistake had been made (I suspect people mistakenly reported me for botting because I play a Ranger as a main or something) and I was really looking forward to that.
To Arenanet’s everlasting credit, it’s been less than 12 hours since then and when I woke up this morning there was a response saying my account had been unblocked and it has been, well in time for the Lost Shores event.
If you just remain polite, and maybe add one addendum to your original ticket explaining you’d appreciate some expediency in the matter, they really do listen.
Sure they make mistakes, which with the amount of people involved in GW2 and the amount of people who do cheat, is understandable, but they’re also willing to admit and correct them. If your friend hasn’t done anything wrong, he’ll be unblocked soon.
