Guild Wars 2

The game runs flawlessly on my late 2012 27" Imac, however my pet commands (i.e. F1-F4) are not working. Any ideas as to why this may be?

Do you have your keyboard set to use the “F” keys as standard function keys? If not they won’t work by just pressing the “F” key alone. If you don’t have it set that way you will need to press the “fn” key plus the “F” key you want to use.

You can change this by going to System Preferences > Keyboard and then select the keyboard tab on the top to the left of the keyboard shortcut tab. There is a check box to set them as standard function keys.

You may need to press the Fn (function) key to use them in-game since on some Mac setups they control brightness, volume, & iTunes by default.

Otherwise, you need to enter your system preferences, go under keyboard settings, and enable “Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys.” If you do this, then you need to use the Fn key to adjust brightness, volume, & iTunes.

Thanks guys I’ll play with the settings as suggested In the mean time I’ve simply re-assigned the keys to Shift, Z and C (as I found in a dated post here).

This cheap application will switch the mode of function keys automatically when playing Guild Wars 2.
