Q:

Hey I was an idiot and gave my info to a phishing email. Ive already changed my password and deleted the character of whose name i gave them. Is there still a chance they can get to my account with my serial code and a no longer existent character name? If so what can I do?

You didn’t need to delete the character. :-) you changed the password, that’s good. If it was me I’d run a security scan on the computer, also looking for keyloggers. If its clear then you’re fine. If not, get it clean then change the password again. If you contact support they should be able to help you with any problems or concerns.

Make sure you have the IP authorization set up. If someone tries to access your account and the IP setup stops them, then you know your account isn’t secure.

If you used the same email address and password for your email account (or any other service), change the password there too.

Did you provide your serial number when you responded to the phishing email?

The account was locked down for a few minutes during an investigation into the situation, but it appears that you have changed the password, and that the account is secure. Given the amount of information that the phisher obtained from you, you may wish to ask the team about changing your account name (log-in name, e-mail address used to log in to the game) as well. The team is aware of this issue; I spoke with a team lead this evening.
