Guild Wars 2

I have been going crazy trying to fix this issue. I can play the game perfectly and on max settings, but when I open a window in game (inventory, hero window, mail) I crash to desktop with error message.

The night I bought the game, I played it for hours and was able to open in-game windows with no problem. When I tried to log on the next morning, I was experiencing this issue all of a sudden.

I have tried reformatting, re-downloading the game, trying different drivers, turning off pop-up blockers, disabling Norton, turning off windows defender. Nothing is working.

I have a GTX 460 nvidia. This is the error I am receiving

Can you attach your arenanet.log file? Also did you check your gw2 game folder for any corrupted.dat? Tried running -repair commandline?

I’ve tried repair, and I’ve even tried reinstalling the whole game. I am not sure what the arenanet.log file is though.

The one from Documents\Guild Wars 2. It’s the crash log file?

If that’s the only log then it ok don’t attach it. Anyway there’s no corrupted dats right? Can you set everything to Low ingame? or if you open the option window does it crash? See if installing SP1 also helps.

Well sp1 didn’t help. i can go to the settings menu and i set it to lowest and that didn’t help…… still crashed. i can try the repair thing again i guess… but i’m doubtful.

Btw is UAC turned on? Turn UAC off then try -repair.Also have you try limiting your fps to 60/30?

haven’t tried limiting fps… not sure how to do that, and no clue what UAC is or how to turn it off

UAC is the one that controls Window pop up that if you want to install or run things as admin you can disable it from Control Panel\User Accounts\Change User Account Control settings → Disable/Never Notify. Check if it helps then run -repair after you disable it then limit the fps.

GRRRRRR…….. disabled UAC, ran repair, and limited to 30 frames. still crashed

If you check your Crash Log(Arenanet.log) do you still see? on the Date and Time of the crash?

Can you try setting your UI to Smaller or Larger? or even in window mode?

it’s been over three weeks and i still have gotten to response to my support ticket. i am getting no help from tech support on forums.

i have already talked at least 3 people out of purchasing this game based on my customer support experience.

Sorry to hear that you still haven’t resolved your problem. Anyway do you have a spare video card or machine to test gw2? Also did you change the stock Power supply ?
