Hey,(Anet give some response)

idk the name of this bug which makes it even hard to find a solution..
This is whats happening here.

1) I play GW2 for say 5 to 10 min.
2) The game Freezes for 30 sec and i see these kinds of pictures which pixel out on my screen.
3)I do a Alt+Tab ( desktop then back to GW2) the game looks just fine with minor details pixeld-out which are hard to notice.
4)I dont get any error report or any thing when this happens.

Please some one who has a name or error code for this kind of a bug let me know.
Some one from ANET please give a response.

I have changed to 64bit windows xp from win 7 32bit just for the game, i have to say other than this error every thing is fine on 64bit. On win7 32bit i had lot of problems.

update your graphic card’s driver and play a while to see if the issue still happens

here’s a link to the latest WHQL one for WinXP 64Bit:
http://www.nvidia.de/object/winxp64-310.90-whql-driver-de.html

be sure to choose “custom installation” to be able to check “new installation”, which removes most traces of the old previous installed driver version, as well as any changes at the nvidia-control panel.

well then, try reinstalling it, but be sure to completely remove your currently installed driver before launching a new installation.

it’s most likely not the game’s problem.

your GPU might be broken.
not 100% sure tho, more fixing/problem track down attempts must be done, like if you are having another GPU, capable of running GW2, that you can get your hands on for testing out temporarily, or try out different high demanding games to try reacreating the problem, to be 100% dure it’s not GW2…

another things i probably would waste my time with, includes rolling back to driver version “306.97”, running a GPU stresstest tool like “Furmark” or even running the " -repair" command line argument to verify the game files.

your problem is very odd and i don’t have the knowledge to help you any further

ty man gone try Furmark, i am running skyrim and Dishonored on max settings cant find any problems. But any ways will furmark tell if my GPU is broke ?

Thats the reason why even posted this i cant even find a way to search for this problem so i can find a solution.

no, Furmark just stresses, tortures and torments your GPU almost as much as GW2. (little joke there)

so while running keep an eye on the screen for graphical glitches aka “artifacts” and monitor your GPU’s temps while running – you can just disable the burn-in test at any time if the temps are getting too high.

how long? about 10 minutes? any graphical annormalities?

your temps are pretty good…alot of OC potential :P
the score just rates your GPU’s performance.

you should ask at the nvidia forum/support too for further assistance.

now i just looked at your screenshot…looks like a glitched up NES game : D
already tried " -repair"?

well if you mean response from a-net, then you can wait forever, since it’s unlikely a problem with the game but rather with your hardware, especially your GPU.

the best thing to do would be, as i said, try out another graphic card if possible and playing again to see if the problem is solved or still there.
that way, you can be sure if it’s you graphic card or not.

I think you are correct :P they warned me about infraction for asking them to read my post. But i have a small hope they will do read it.

I made a thread about MS(lagg) notification or display in game like all other online games back in september not one response from anet. But they answer some of the threads like these. 1) Help me name my asura toon,
2)How to clear my ingame mail its full. So i hope they read mine and help me aswell.

Any ways i use my GPU for other games whith max settings even Furmark cant bring that error to my GPU after running it for 20 min :P And i dont have friends with PC they all got laptops so just for testing i cant buy a new GPU. If thats the problem for sure if Anet confirms that my GPU is broke with a reason i will have to change it then.

help naming an asura toon? i highly doubt that they’ll even think about helping someone with that.
i guess they helped because the character already existed and it’s name was too offensive.
or it was just some staff member who felt like answering that…it’s not forbidden for them to do that :P

believe it or not, GW2 is a rare exception in terms of performance in the world of videogames…thanks to the reflection-bug and general bad optimisation here and there, which can cause huge framedrops even on high-end systems.
i created different overclocking profiles, for example: skyrim: runs perfect – crysis 2: runs perfect – big file decompressions: fast, without stutterings – GPU&CPU stresstests: run without errors for hours
but not GW2 – it crashes after 15 minutes lol
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————
anyways, here are some other things to try out which may or may not help you identify your problem:

go to your nvidia control panel, at “audjust image settings with preview” check “use my preference emphasizing” and turn the slider all the way to the left and check if you can recreate the problem.
this will make sure that none of your nvidia settings are somehow responsible for your problem.

try performing a “clean boot”, this will determine if any background program is responsible for your issue or not.
go to start —-> run —-> type in “msconfig”
go to the “services” tab and check “hide all microsoft services” and the click on “disable all”
now go to the “startup” tab and disable all
reboot your computer, run GW2 and play a while
just enable everything again when you’re done

but it’s still weird that it’s just GW2…
maybe some texture files are corrupted, if you already tried “-repair”, do a complete reinstallation of GW2.

if you’re still having that weird glitch/bug, then it seems more and more like a hardware malfunction to me :/

im really out of ideas now

your graphic glitches up ONLY in orr? nowhere else?

because that would sound more like corrupted game files to me.

No, not in ORR only, i was in ORR when that happened this time.

Any ways this time i changed my GPU drivers all the way back to 195.62(Nvidia Driver). And just for testing if they glitch happens again i kept my game setting at MAX. It ran so smooth and even did one FOTM with out any bug.

One more thing, I happen to use WIN 7 32 bit & XP 32bit before, there use to be a lot of this error in Win 7 “Nvidia Drivers has stopped working and has Recoverd”. When i try GW2 in xp back in those days instead of this graphic driver has failed error game use close by it self.

I think thats what is happening now in my XP 64bit.
