Guild Wars 2

Hi. I have this problem and just can’t seem to start the game at all. Anyone seen this and know away around?

I press Play in launcher, get to the user agreement screen (yes, i get there every time i try to play), accept the agreement and game tries to run.

The screen turns black for 3-4 seconds and returns to desktop. No error message.

I repeted this many times now and the same thing happens every time.

My mac is updated with all the newest updates. It’s an iMac i5 2.7 4GB

Oh, and I know

•The application may crash when “Play” is clicked after the system has been put to sleep and woken while the Launcher is open.

is listed as an known error. But my mac hasnt been to sleep when I try to load the game. I restarted the machine with no luck

i think maybe its because i was on 10.6, not 10.7. downloading mountain lion now and we’ll see what happens

I actually got into the game, played around with the settings a little… only thing that was a little wonky was the camera rotation… extremely fast. It wasn’t until I exited to the desktop that hitting play would result in the endless crash loop. So technically, I could play with 10.6… only once. I’m not going to upgrade the OS since none of the hardware in my system is newer than 2010 and obviously this port was written purely for the later models. I know it runs just fine in bootcamp, so it’s not a hardware limitation on my end, it’s a port limitation on the Mac side.

upgrading to 10.7 got it working.
