This isn’t exactly the biggest deal nor am I sure if this is the right place to put this, but I just lost progress from the last hour or so that I spent in Iron Marches on my warrior. I had just completed the map and was waypointing to Timberline Falls when I was kicked out of the game.
After checking around it seemed log in servers were brought down while I was in Iron Marshes and thus my progress was not saved. Is there anyway to get this fixed? Like I said it’s not the biggest deal but it would help a lot. It’s hard going through the same content AGAIN as soon as you completed it.
Just about everyone had this happen. It’s a technical issue and I doubt they’ll “roll forward” for everyone.
I have the same issue, I got deleveled a couple notches and lost most of my mats I gained and equipment. The other thing is I also lost track of all the heart quests I did, so I don’t know what’s going on. Hopefully it’ll come resolved soon.
Yea I just lost 4 upgrades and a gold from my first AC that took over an hour. Not to mention about 80s in money and level progress….they better at least give us something to make up for their mistakes.
yeah, i’m pretty unimpressed
I lost 25 deadly blooms and my dungeon completion rewards myself.

I’m not the most techsavvy person so does anyone know if they somehow have records of what everyone accomplished? Or is that just a pipedream.
Same thing here. I had just finished Diessa 100% and was taking a waypoint to Lion’s Arch when I was disconnected. On logging back in I have lost a level and at least an hours worth of POI’s, vistas, and hearts. Not to mention a couple of dyes and money. Would sure like to have that work back, but probably fat chance I’m sure.
Yeah, I lost 15 tokens for completing TA Exp mode and the silver from doing so. =/ Think I lost some drops i got as well.
So on top of being disconnected and locked out of the game for a while, I lost a level and a half and about half a gold, definitely not pleased right now.
Yeah i lost 20 Manifestos of the Moletariate as well the achievment from one of the paths from Sorrow’s Embrance. Pretty upseting.
yeah i lost a level, a crap ton of crafting mats, and all my gear from events
Well, I’m glad I saw this thread, because I just logged in and about crapped myself when my toon spawned 2 levels behind where I logged off.
Extremely frustrating, especially considering I spent a good deal of that time gathering mats for crafting, and have zero interest in repeating that.
lost a level and half the map i just spent 45 mins worth of quests , points of interest , and skill points and everything i had gathered up during that time.
I lost a level and a half, an xp booster, and 100% completion on Gerrandan Hills. Was trying to load into Lion’s gate and bam got kicked off. I couldn’t log back in for a while and when I finally did I lost all my progress.
This explains the unexpected DC last night when wife and I both decided to go on to bed… and I log in this morning to find about an hour plus of progress/loot missing… hearts, exploration… and yeah… what Ateus.3481 said… repeating stuff you JUST completed is not cool.
Just wanted to say while I understand this sucks for you folks it does happen. I remember back in the EQ days and WoW early days you’d get rolled back sometimes for an entire day in the event of a severe hardware crash(EQ). WoW rollbacks of 15 minute to an hour were common at launch. Not trying to start an argument or anything but I definitely remember rollbacks happening in other MMOs I’ve played.
Basically what happens is there is a hardware/network crash. The server reverts the data to the last good backup it had which in this case sounds like it was about an hour old.
There is one difference from what I’m reading here. Back in EQ, and maybe WoW can’t remember, a lot of folks would log out as soon as they got an item they wanted because the log out would force a save.
It sucks but think of it like using Word or any other software out there. If you don’t have it set to auto-save every so often if you lose power or the app crashes there is a good chance either all or most of what you’d had done will be lost.
I lost almost 100% of the completion of Ebonhawke, including skillpoints, a level, and the silver. Also tried to purchase a new axe at BLTC (ah) last night, and was unable to do so – tried again this morning, and there are 6 of them waiting for me at the BLTC, and the funds removed from my account to pay for them – bummed.
I was not logged off but logged off myself to come back the next day and find out all the progress of the last few hours I played was lost ( like crafting/regular experience, heart quest, ect). the only thing it did save was the money I spent on Materiel from the trading post for my crafting. so now I have no crafting progressed level gain and no money. I don’t care that much for the crafting level compared to the money as I can redo the crafting with the money. sigh… thinking I should have stayed playing wow : (
Going to go play my other lowbie character, hopefully it saves that!
I can’t beleive there’s been no dev response for this. They should definately give us something for our lost hours
My schedule keeps me busy mon – thurs so i can only play weekends. Even though I knew this was going to be the case, I still bought the game in advanced. Now, I don;t know what happened yesterday but when I logged in(friday) the daily events seemed bugged. There were none that worked so I spent all day grinding even though you get almost no exp for that in this game. I played ALL day and I only went up 3 lvls so when i was kicked out last night, went to bed, and woke up to find that I had LOST one of the hard earned levels, it kinda sucks. I mean, its only about 1k exp so I’m not too upset about that but the crafting materials i’m missing does hit me hard. I was gathering them because I only now started leveling my craft (stupid me) so to lose even a little hurts(cuz im poor). Anyway, sorry for the long post but, to run into all of this on my only time off kinda makes me think. $60. If you guys at ANet run an extra exp. weekend, that would, in my opinion, make up for all of this, and whats the harm in that, its only exp.
I lost half a level and a black dye I found, talk about beingkitten off.
Seriously guys. In this day and age of redundant server architecture and mirroring databases there is absolutely NO excuse for losing this level of data.
Many of us play this and other games for fun. We measure our time by progress and now that progress is gone due to no fault of our own. I’ve spent money to buy your game. I’ve spent additional money buying your gems and I have an implied expectation that things will work as intended. This is clearly not the performance that I’ve paid for and expect to receive.
I, and I’m sure plenty like me, have a very low tolerance for this type of failure. Oh, and the (paraphrasing here) “we’re not doing jack about our issue where you’ve suffered losses” tweet is akitten poor response/update.
Do something to take care of your players. Trust me, my expectations are low and I anticipate that either a) my post will be “moderated,” or b) ignored (more likely).
