I got a very annoying connection problem. Whenever my provider changes my IP adress I am kicked from the server. Is there any way to prevent this?

My ISP also does a 24 forced disconnect. However it can be controlled by manually disconnecting at the hours you don’t usually play or work over Internet. It has to be done at least once per month though. SO once per month I manually turn off my router wait a minute or so and plug it back in. From this point onwards those disconnects happen in this time.

They aren’t supposed to reset your IP during active use. If they do, any current connections would disable, because they now think you’re someone new. There really wouldn’t be a way to prevent this.

In Germany for example most of the DSL providers use a forced 24 hours disconnect (some even do it twice a day), which leads to a new IP, if you didn’t order a fixed IP. Yes it’s stupid, but can’t do much about it. There is no way to prevent a game disconnect in this cases.

Edit: Well, you can try to force the automatic disconnect at hours you don’t play (some routers have an option for this).

Thank you everyone for the feedback. Seems like the only way to prevent it is to reset my IP manually before playing the game…
