I would like a moderator to an answer this question. If I get another infraction again for using this word, so be it, because I do not understand the logic what-so-ever.

But I posted something that had the following sentence in it.
“Who the eff cares?”
I received an infraction for this and the reason given was “We have a swear filter on this forum for a reason, please refrain from attempts to circumvent it.”. As I have said this for YEARS, so I do not actually swear in real life, I am quite perplexed at the infraction.

Here is the conundrum, if this is deemed circumventing a swear filter, than what would the acronym of “WTF” be? Isn’t this a form of circumventing as well? Yet, there are many posts with this as well.

Sorry, but this infraction seems kind of asinine in my opinion. Then again, this is my opinion. I just find it very hypocritical and would like a moderator’s opinion on the manner, as I just don’t find it logical in any manner.

In the message you got from the moderator it would of had an e-mail address where you could appeal the infration.

So far, nothing…yet. lol

I did a search just for that word, and there are 100+ results for it. I think I may have made some people angry in that WvW thread. lol

My question is, if it’s not aimed at somebody with intent to harm, what’s the problem? Are people that immature that they can’t handle a lil gaming language? But let’s be honest here too, do we really need that kind of language in order to express ourselves? And the answer imo is no.

Of course we don’t “need” anything, but in all seriousness, there are way worse things posted on this forum, then this particular post. Even while using “kitten”. I do agree with you, that if they can’t handle a little gaming language, than they are a little immature. Did I call anyone outside of their name? No. So why the infraction?

I think I would have been less miffed had I received an infraction for something else other than circumventing the swear filter. Or if I saw a more active policing of this policy on the forums. As it is, I see “circumventing” more often than not, yet I was targeted. lol
